Thank you so much, Tahir, and to your family and friends. And good fortune to the Scheherazade Foundation and Kashfi's Children.

Thanks dear Tahir, Intuitively I guessed this in bits and pieces over the past three years. You explained it in a very articulate way.

What an astonishing revelation. I have been a fan of your father’s work since I can remember, from the first time I read “Learning How to Learn” and “The Sufis.” I still continue to read him, now reading and trying to absorb the incredible insights into human foibles contained in “The Pleasantries of the Incredible Mulla Nasrudin.”

"I can only conclude that everything happens for a reason." I suppose that's central, and that's enough. Idries Shah's work and life were remarkably apt and revivifying for the age, in ways that are vital for the sufic aim. I'm happy with that. Best regards to all his immediate family, and to the very wide community of interest and aspiration who have, and will, discover and benefit.

Hello, I am just discovering this video. Thank you for sharing your insights and grief. I want to express my gratitude for all you have done to publish your father's books. I was over the moon when I discovered in 2016 that I could listen to all of his books on KZbin! I love the Idries Shah Foundation podcast offerings as well. I was first gifted the book The Way of the Sufi in 1997, and I have been reading and re reading his books since that time. In 2013 I lost most of them to a house fire, so discovering the audio versions on KZbin was such a boon. Thank you so much for keeping his words accessible and available. I am so grateful.

I can certainly understand your emotions around this, but I also wholeheartedly concur with your conclusion, which started with "everything happens for a reason..."

Tah, You have shown great courage placing this video. I feel your pain too. Hang in there. We will bring your father's work and reputation back to full credibility in magical unexpected ways that will be a surprise to all. Trust me. A.

Thank you for this. Your explanation must be very difficult for you. The compensation is, of course, your father's work has affected many thousands in a very positive way and will certainly continue to do so despite the obstacles.

This is shocking news, though "reading between the lines" over the past few years, I had suspected something like this was going on. I feel your grief but suspect your father would fully understand how you have done your best in impossible circumstances. My more cynical side questions the role of incompetence and wonders whether this may be a deliberate attempt to undermine your father's legacy by those with a different agenda. I feel confident that the ideas are seeded and will live on, re-emerging at the right time, in the right place and with the right people. Many thanks for sharing this difficult story (and testament to the power of silence).

As a 75 year-old American physician whose life has been greatly enriched for over 50 years by your father's books , I was saddened to learn of this change in the ISF. I only came across your video because I am currently self-isolating at home with my second episode of Covid, and was browsing KZbin. The ISF is a beneficiary in my will. Am I correct in believing that you think much more good would be accomplished by my changing the beneficiary to the Scheherazade Foundation? Thank you for your work.

That's incredibly heart-felt and thoughtful of you to think of benefiting the work of Shah through your legacy arrangements. One can hardly think of two better people than the twins, Tahir and Safia, to receive directly such support as you mentioned. We know that they could certainly make great use of it in furthering their father's work. May you always have a light that goes before you to lead the way, and many blessings in your hands! Bravo, Doctor!!

There is a genuine tradition, saying, of Prophet Muhammad recorded in Sahih Bukhari to the effect that when authority is given to those who do not deserve it, then wait for the destruction.

It must be difficult to look upon your father's legacy so very abused and manipulated, and the sadness in your eyes is heartbreaking to those for whom the Sayyed's work has always been the north star by which our uncertain steps have been guided. Thankfully your father warned us time and again that this organizational entropy has historically been the case and would always be so. It is nonetheless understandable that for so many of us, the loss of our living north star would feel like we've been left rudderless and adrift. Idries Shah's job carries the heaviest responsibility imaginable and I can not but think that he was fully aware of how this would develop. Please allow me to say that I do not see his face contorted in anger and blame when looking at you but full of pride and benevolence contemplating your very best efforts and this show of humility and courage. I congratulate your whole family and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As you say, things happen for a reason. Now ISF is back on track, Shah's legacy continues and has not been tarnished. How can Gold be tarnished? I hope they books are selling like hot cakes in Turkey and elsewhere.

What’s your take on ISHK? I think Idries Shah was a founder of that organization. ISHK is still in operation and doesn’t appear to center itself around the persona of Idries Shah. From my understanding, Idries warned us about folks bickering over the legacy of saints after their death.

Sad to see these developments. An interesting coincidence: did you know a book is coming out titled “Empire's Son, Empire's Orphan: The Fantastical Lives of Ikbal and Idries Shah” and looks very negative. Let’s see what will unfold, life is strange. Good luck!

Dear Tahir. By making this video, you have publicly exposed the mismanagement of the current ISF management team. You have adopted a Fight Back approach to the problem. What other ways are there to fight back? Perhaps one way to do this is for you and your sisters to create a completely new organization - one dedicated to communicating the legacy of Idries Shah, and with NO linkage to the ISF. Perhaps it would not be a charitable organization, except in spirit. Perhaps it would include a blog with posts by writers who have something valuable to share concerning the legacy of Idries Shah.
