I guess it helps to have smaller hands. I just changed mine on my Tahoe and didn't have to do all of this. My biggest concern was breaking a nail. Thanks for the tip, though.

Worked great. It was a tight fit getting my hand in there (especially to get to the side marker light), but it sure beat the $75 labor charge my dealer quoted

If you're just doing the low beam and have smaller hands you can do it but just undoing the two upper mounting bolts and slightly pulling the headlight out. It gives just enough room to do it but if you have large hands I could see it being an issue. I wear a size large glove and was able to get it relatively easy on both sides, passenger side being a bit tighter but didn't take any extra time.

one thing i have found out. if you remove the air filter housing, (just pops out of the rubber grommets) pop out the body clips behind the light assy. , and fold the rubber flap, you can get to the headlight!

Nicely done. Exactly what I needed to find out -- the hidden 7mm inside the fender liner. Leave it to GM to overly complicate this.

Perry Rose, the lights for this truck are: license plate, front side 194,rear turn, tail, stop 3057k, dtrl 3157k, fog 5202, park, front turn 5702nak, reverse 7441, hi beam 9005, low beam 1155ll, map/dome 212-2. hope this helps

learned the hard way. broke inside screw attachment. couldn't figure out why it was still snagged.

The assembly will come out all the way you just have to cautiously work with it. There are headlight restoration kits on the market to remove the haze, I've even used fast orange hand cleaner on a foam pad attached to a drill! Thanks for your interest and ill try to make a video that shows removal.

Wow, just what I need for my 2008 Z71 Tahoe! Just one question: Which part number bulbs do I need to replace the daytime bulb and the hi-beam? The manual doesn't specify which. Thanks for the info and thanks again for a very informative and clear video!

Unbelieveable. Some engineer actually got paid to come up with this abortion of a light housing. My F-250 has all the bulbs accessible just by popping the hood open. Thanks GM...last one I'll ever buy. Thanks for the info on accessing this aberration.

What happens is the uv rays from the sun,all the bugs, and dirt degrade the coating on the plastic headlight. The kits do "restore" but is isn't perfect, I guess it depends on how long you work with it. Ithe fast orange did work and I've seen toothpaste being used although I haven't tried it. The resto doesn't last forever but it beats a $300 light that's going to cloud up in 2 years
