Have you ever wondered what is the secret to applying Tai Chi Push Hands? And is it something you haven't yet learned, or perhaps a practice you've learned and not yet realized the importance of? Because somewhere in this slow and tranquil practice is the key to making use of it when the opponent is neither slow, nor tranquil. You know this and it is a part of why you practice it, isn't it? And if you stopped being slow and tranquil, are you still doing Tai Chi?
You may have practiced the Tai Chi Push Hands patterns, and you may even have become quite skilled at softly neutralizing an opponent's force. But you may not yet feel certain about how to make contact with an opponent's quick strikes, how to cause your arms to stick to each other, and how, in that fraction of a second, gain control of their center. How can you begin to complete all this in that fraction of a second?
You already do know how though. Consider this, what do you do when you have very little time to accomplish a lot, in anything, aside from Tai Chi? What if you were able to get a head start, would that be helpful? And how can your push hand application be more like that process, in every way? We will discuss this in this video series about how to apply Push Hands beyond Push Hands patterns.
