A shoutout from Taichung! I was born and raised here. It’s truly an amazing city! With its nice weather, great hospitality from the citizens, and delicious yet very affordable local cuisines, Taichung is definitely a must-go for tourists around the world. I am Taichung citizen over 30 years. The MRT (Subway) of Taichung seems will get started at the end of 2020. Therefore, don’t come to Taichung before 2021 Spring. Otherwise you can only take taxis, buses or riding bicycle and motorcycles. The weather of Taichung is very good but speaking of the public transportation, Taipei is way better than Taichung.

@@a7medanis101 Why is not being able to speak English such a negative thing to you? I certainly don't assume they would speak English, I don't speak Mandarin and I don't think they would expect me too if they visited my country so why would I expect it from them? It's such a strange complaint to make if you were traveling to another country knowing that English was not the official language. And there's plenty of gross stuff to step on in even the cleanest big cities. And they stink sometimes too, and some people spit on the street, such is life with so many people in one place. Not sure exactly what you're expecting but a city could have all the problems you mention and still be an amazing place, nothings perfect.

I lived in Taichung for 15 years , I think yes Taichung is better than Taipei in someways like buildings and weathers ,however the walkways(outside of Xitun) and public transportation is worse. Taiwan is a save place, the only thing that can kill you is the traffic, and most parts of Taiwan lacks walkways, because in the past when Taiwanese governor planed the construction, they only think about cars, not the walking people , so the result is many Taiwanese outside of Taipei prefer riding a scooter instead of walking to station and take public transportation ,because walking became a dangerous thing when you don't have walkways, and the more people use scooters the more difficult to find a place to park, so people just park their scooter on the already tiny walkway,this vicious circle can only end if they start built more walkways and MRT as soon as they can,unfortunately this won't happen in Taichung because the central government only cares about northern parts of Taiwan, this is also the reason why Taichung MRT have planed so long and still only one lane is under constructing now.

Chirrl Gryekke That’s informative. I know what you mean. It’s a matter of city planning. I like to walk and ride bicycles. It’s too bad they planned the cities around cars. I haven’t been to Taiwan yet. I’ve lived in China. In China, some cities are really good for pedestrians and cyclists, while other cities were planned only for cars. The first kind of city is the kind I love. But, I might be moving to Taiwan, and Taichung looks like one of the best places to live. I’ll have to drive a scooter everyday.
@Gugeoji._.4 жыл бұрын
30803080308030803081 Actually I’m not a fan of Chinese city planning, like traffic and roads design, but yes in China (a least the cities I have been to) pedestrians safety are much higher than many parts of Taiwan . Taichung is still a good place to live overall, and there are a lot of new area ready to be built, the rest of city will become more and more like Xitun, this city is changing very fast compared to other Taiwanese city.

Sea YUN wrong Taiwan has never been part of China, Taiwanese aborigines (this is facts) the ancestors of Taiwan were living in Taiwan for over 5,500 years in isolation from any country including China Fact, even the Dutch were in Taiwan before the first Chinese ever set foot in Taiwan Fact. The Dutch arrived in 1624 many years before any Chinese Fact. Then Chinese only went to Taiwan when 1 the koxing Ming were defeated by the Manchurians so the Ming dynasty fled to Taiwan in 1644 Years after the Dutch colonised the country China had no claim on Taiwan then or now in fact you could argue the Dutch have more of a legitimate claim than China China again are trying to steal islands that do not belong to them Taiwan was never a part of China Fact

I had business trips in Taichung several times. It's an industrial city that so lovely I don't mind to live in. The lack of MRT is compensated by having a free bus ride anywhere within the city! You missed my favorite place in Taichung which is Gaomei Wetlands. Best place for watching sunset. PS. I've seen in many videos that you're also a good car spotter. Thumbs up for the good work!

I live in Taichung for about 8 years now as a factory worker, I love the city and the people are so friendly and its not as crowded compare to Taipei but I love the weather in Taipei.

Thanks so much for your effort in carrying out this video. I am oversea Chinese in an Asian country, so far have not visited this city even I have longed for . It is amazing, a nice combination of modern vs tradition with natural climate factors, entirely like what you think in your introduction. thks

I binge watched all your videos this weekend and I felt like covering them myself. I don't have go through lot of planning, vacation, tiresome travel, reservations etc and your 4K coverages are more than what I could have explored. I am sitting here in my bed room and watching the world through your perception, camera lens and youtube. Thank you!
