This is pretty nice. I was thinking about these two moves just the other day. 1:21 you can actually see the kind of opening move from the Chen style '6 Sealing 4 Closing' that turned into the 'Appear Closed' move in Yang style. So that's pretty neat! 5:30 This is showing as the Chen version, but I was under the impression, that this basically is how the Yang version worked as well, just the Yang version was without the body turn afterward. Though I guess the Yang version at 5:20 still isn't that different. Push, pull, push, get off of me. 3:15 is the Yang demo of the move. 3:02 is the start of that whole section of the Yang form. 1:13 is the Chen demo of the move. The name of 6 sealing 4 closing has always been obscure in meaning. This was a good explanation. I was told that 6 and 4 make a complete set of 10; so the meaning is that one is all closed up. It's less direct, but it still makes sense, given the position. I always figured the 6 sealings were your shoulder-hip-knee against my shoulder-hip-knee, and the 4 closing was your 2-arms vs my 2-arms, (or the 4 gates around them being closed due to having tangled hands). One ends up in the same positions, so either explanation is close enough.
