@@alanbenoit1478 Absolutely 4.0 life and the rear end of this truck has 70k more than that as this truck got wrapped into a tree by my son after his one week of ownership that we gave to him as a graduation present. But it was a very good learning experience as I told him the truck may be totaled but it won't be when we're done.

I replaced the left strap on my 94 Ranger about 3 years ago. I went with one from RockAuto and other than the coating being slightly thinner everything was the same. End thick ess and cable diameter were the same. Mine had gotten pinched in the gate and rotted. Haven't had issues since. Cost was $9 plus shipping.

I’ve bought cheap tailgate parts from Amazon , fender covers , etc. The deezee tailgate shock works great for just letting the tailgate drop hydraulically instead of a strap on one side . It’s like 6 years running good

You get what you pay for I think, i have been a buyer through my career and for certain Chinas capable of producing the best quality but they are also master at copying and doing things cheaper, you will never really know what you are getting because as you have seen price doesn't determine quality. The OEM parts are determined by the drawing specs when the vehicle was developed so there is a likely chance that the original part will be better quality but unfortunately not always as they can downgrade on non essential safety parts and issue a new drawing revision. How i look at it is like this, if the cheap part lasts a quarter of the time compared to the original thats ok at 10 dollars. good video.
