i have a McCulloch, that runs and cuts beautifully... Revs up the second you touch the throttle etc.... The only issue it has.... If im cutting into a tree or a big log.. and that chainsaw is going flat out... When i let off the throttle, Sometimes it dies out... ONLY AFTER letting off the trigger.. Drops its revs as it should, goes down to near idle.. then just dies out... Always fires right back up again though... When im letting off from a big cut, I have to sometimes blip the throttle a couple times, Just while the revs are coming down... To keep it running.... Its not the idle too low... Because i have it set to just where the chain doesnt wona rotate on the bar... Slightest increase of idle, Makes the chain start to rotate when idling..

Spark plug will get you pretty often. Had a newer outboard leave me stranded on the river. Rest the plug against the block - pure lightning storm. I basically rebuilt that whole motor and it still wouldn't run. Put a $7 spark plug in it and you can sneeze on it and it will crank and run. Lol. Lessons... even xomparing spark between the new and old plug there was no difference but it just wouldn't fire

@matthew-gn4qd2 жыл бұрын
sounds like not enough fuel getting through. if i get a problem like that I check all the easy things first such as spark plug, compression / air leaks, fuel leaks, breather vent, try tweaking the high jet and see if it improves. if i can't fix a problem by doing the basic stuff then i normally take the carb off to see whats going on in there. it might be dirt or water blocking the main jet or fuel passage ways. or possibly even a gasket leak or float / needle valve problem - consider taking the carb off and taking it apart to check it. check the colour of the spark plug. if its running lean it'll be very light in colour (like a caramel white). if its running rich it'll be black. a good colour is light tan. hope that helps + hope you get it fixed!
@BuckinBillyRaySmith2 жыл бұрын
