Holy shit, Speed Jungle Act 1 fucking SLAPS dude. Bridge Island was OK but I'm super on board with this. I suspect it's a pure Tee Lopes track whereas Bridge Island was clearly a Jun Senoue track with a Tee arrangement.

It's interesting that Tails is the only character that stylizes his spin to the point where he looks like a solid ball whenever he is curled. By itself it's not that bad, but next to the other characters it stands out. I get that he has a unique problem in that his tails need to be protruding without spinning with his body. But I feel like it could still read if they at least do the shoe blur like they do for the other character's spin dash (The green of shoes can be seen while he's revving). Perhaps he's just unfinished.

Tails always has his tails show behind his spin jump, it's not unfinished, just the way Sega designs his animations.

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I think Speed Jungle honestly looks like a chaotic mess, especially the first act. The stage mechanics don't look very cohesive, and like the first zone, there are an awful lot of speed boosters and springs pushing you along. I hope there's not a whole lot of automation in the platforming (*coughSonicFrontierscough*). I also really don't like these kinds of bosses where you have to wait around for a specific damage window. It can make a fight drag on for ages. The act 2 boss in this video took just under two and a half minutes- that's way too damn long for a 2D Sonic boss fight, even for a first try.

I feel the same way. I'm a little concerned about Superstars because of these reasons. At best I think it'll just be good, not great, and I wish that wasn't the case. I'd love something with the quality of Mania again, but with actually new levels. Most of Superstars' zones aren't very visually engaging, and look very similar to those in previous games.

@@telekinesticman Mania 2 is just a braindead easy win, I seriously wonder if Sega is bitter that fans made a better classic Sonic game than they have in years. I really want Superstars to be great, but I'm just not blown away yet. I also have absolutely no interest in any of the multiplayer modes, but that's just me. I can't imagine how you can get four speedy characters to operate on the same screen without it being like playing as player two Tails in Sonic 2 and constantly lagging behind.

@@Galamoth06 yeah exactly. The idea of co-op is awesome, but there's a reason they've barely shown it off outside of tiny trailer clips. Sonic levels just aren't designed for it, and even then, it looks like these levels have been simplified further to accommodate the co-op anyway.

There isn’t, you use the medals found in stages (which replace lives) to buy skins in the shop for the battle mode. It’s not pay to win or anything

Boss themes are placeholder One of the boss themes is literally just the sonic 4 episode 2 Eggman boss theme, which is why they are placeholder Also no bridge island act 2. And mania clear music every time you clear an act of a zone. A lot of placeholder music as you can see

apart from the characters model, the game looks visualy bland at best and hideous at worst. fortunately it seems that the levels design is better than i anticipated (heard that iizuka stepped in the process) music wise its good, not peak, not horrible, just very good
