Taina REBOOT and Brink! SEQUEL?! Christina Vidal Mitchell on Possible Revivals and On-Set CRUSHES!

Christina Vidal Mitchell is down to revisit her childhood acting roots! The actress opened up to ET’s Deidre Behar about the possibility of reviving her beloved early 2000s series ‘Taina’ and revisiting the Disney Channel original movie ‘Brink!’ The actress gushed over how much she cherishes both projects and where she thinks her characters would be today. Christina also reflects on her friendship with ‘Freaky Friday’ co-star Lindsay Lohan and even revealed some of her on-set crushes, including Erik Von Detten and Chad Michael Murray! Today, Christina is a proud wife and mother-of-two. In fact, she gave birth to her daughter, Ava, just four days prior to doing this interview. She tells ET all about art imitating life in her latest role, playing a mom named Jo on the ABC sitcom ‘United We Fall,’ which premieres July 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Nickelodeon was wrong for cancelling this show while it was so successful. She just literally disappeared. She made an appearance in girlfriends and I was so happy to see her there. But I’m glad she’s back in a starting role.

As a child, I had a crush (I didn't know it at the time, I just really liked watching her lol) on her in brink! and later watched Taina as well and liked it. I didn't know until later she was the same person lol. I wonder why she resonated in my mind. Note these crushes were before puberty, before things were explained. Taina was not that popular in Latin America, it was only transmitted on Fridays on a block called V in Nickelodeon along other "teen" production like S Club 7 in Miami or Hollywood, Making The Band, etc.; and just a filler in 2003 when the show originally ended a year earlier. I only know Christina for her roles in Brink! (1998) and Freaky Friday (2003) which were excellent.
