Taipei Hotels

Taipei, Taiwan, is not known as a value destination, but you can get some very good hotels at a reasonable price. Here are two good hotels I stayed in at the beginning and end of my Taiwan journey. The Red Cabin hotel is in the Wahua district, and the Beauty Hotel Bchic is in the Zhonshan district. Both hotels feature double rooms and both I would recommend.

Your room at the Red Cabin Inn looks like a jail cell without since there aren't any windows. That little sliding door window is where the prison guards feed you.

For the extra eight or so quid, the BChic hotel was ten times better than the broom cupboard you first showed us. If I ever stayed in Taipei, the BChic would be the one for me. Happy travelling!

Steady Eddie! I love watching your videos and find them most informative. Thank You for enlightening me about the Non-Communist Chinese Country of China! Apparently many of your viewers expect you to find the cheapest of places to inform them about the cheapest of brews. I say: Thank You for taking the High Road! Here in New York City, where my favorite joint costs me 8 USD for a bottle of beer (obviously not cheap), WTF am I to expect when visiting another 1st world country (Taipei) as opposed to one that is not (Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, fill in the Blanks). You obviously stepped out of your comfort zone and, albeit not fully satisfied, you had a new experience! 37 USD per night in a 1st world country hotel in Taipei is a Bargain! Have any of your critics done a cost analysis of the price of a Beer when factoring in the costs of airline tickets, accomodations, food etc? Please keep the good work up and I hope to enjoy a cold Brew with you sometime! Cheers Mate!

hi Eddie rooms in the "beauty hotel bchic" look more confy in contrast with those in the "red cabin " , but i guess the name, cabin, is indicative :-). as you wrote taipei-taiwan is not known as a value destination and you won't see, if any, many backpackers there. yet, 2 hours by plane and you experience a totally different atmosphere like on another planet, because you land in manila, indeed! thumb up #103
