Taipei River Walk + Dadaocheng & GIANT Sashimi Lunch 🇹🇼

In today's video we attempt to take a walk to the other side of the river, however, I couldn't find the footpath over, so we walk north up the river and explore around Dadaocheng area, with its beautiful winding alleys and streets, we end up behind Taipei Main Train Station where we finally get some lunch; a pretty decent bowl of ramen, but some of the best sashimi I've ever had. Massive chunks of salmon, sail fish and tuna with wasabi soy sauce on the side, delicious 🤤🤤🤤
I hope you enjoy today's walk around and exploration of Taipei's riverfront ✌️

Next time dip the shredded daikon with a piece of sashimi in the soy sauce. It's much better that way.

I'm not a fan of Daikon when it's shredded like this, I think it'd soak up the soya sauce too much and be overly salty. Love pickled radish though 👍

As someone who calls Taiwan a second home, your walk through of Taipei does the city justice. It is very awesome to see the "local" areas and not just the toursy spots. LIKED AND SUBBED.

Hey Dan, Head to Dansui area for a sunset. How long are you in Taiwan? Go to Dongmen Station for some people watching and food, off the Red line I think. Next to Daan Park

If u went to Dadaocheng pier at night u'll find it really beautiful. The container houses will open as bars and u could sit on the roof to enjoy a chill night.

I didn't know that Sando House had another store in the DaDaocheng area. They have a location by the Taipei Bus Station that's always crazy busy. Taiwan style sashimi is usually cut thicker than in Japan. Oh! You went to their ramen shop further down the street from the main location, that's why it looked different. My husband's favorite scallion pancake is in front of the main Sando House location. Will you be making a video as to why you left Taiwan soon?

Hey Dan! If you’re ever in a mood for some European food I’d recommend Toasteria Cafe in Taipei, or if you want some authentic Taiwanese braised pork on rice there’s a place called 金大滷肉飯, supposedly the highest rated in taipei

I love daikon radish (mooli) underneath the sashimi. I normally take a small amount with the fish, dip them in the soy sauce. It adds the crunchy texture and freshness. (Don’t eat it on its own without dipping it in the soy sauce) 😂

You could try places other than the Capital cities. *I'd like you to try some scenic locations* and *tourist places for the locals* in the capital cities of the country you're traveling. *It will create a huge difference in your vacation IMHO.* You will find the same concrete jungle else, which you'd find easily. Also the cuisines from different cultures though not authentic are found today in restaurants.
