Beautiful rendition of a song that is very sublime in its lyrics. The Choir and organist understood the assignment. Just one comment however, about the use of "rests", in Taize music. If we listen to their recordings, we see that rests serve two purposes : a musical pause for effect, esp because of the sentence structure or gravity of the words, and secondly to give a break, so singers catch their breath. This latter point is especially important bc Taize songs are often ostinatos, is sung repeatedly. But again rests for such prayerful songs can't be executed by an abrupt rest, in staccato fashion, as in classical music. Kudos to Schola Cantorum for executing the works of this giant. I recommend Lucien Deiss for your next concert.
