Tajiks are Persian, not Turkic like the other ex-USSR '-stans', they are quite different. More in common with Afghanistan and Iran than their former 'comrades'. I was shocked to learn that. I am working to learn the Farsi continuum which exists across Iran, Afghanistan (Dari), and Tajikistan, I would love to go see all these countries one day.

Tajikistan present regime banned Hijab. They have demolished nearly 2000 mosque in Tajikistan in one year 2017. If I am not wrong. Forcing to shave bearded Muslims is also a common under the present dictator's regime. So many comments here are so incorrect and so is this video. Yes, there are also Tajiks in Afghanistan who are literally the same people as the Tajiks in Tajikistan. BUT, the dominant ethnic group in Afghanistan are the Pashtuns who are the same people as the Pashtuns in Pakistan. They speak Pashto not Dari/Tajiki (Persian) like the Tajiks. The Pashtuns mainly support the Taliban and are the ones who created this mess. They are very patriotic and want other ethnic groups in Afghanistan to speak Pashto as well as causing the genocide to the: Hazaras, Tajiks, Uzbeks, etc. These are the people of Khorasan (Northern Afghanistan) which was part of Iran and Tajikistan. With all reasons mentioned, this is why the Tajikistani government don’t have good diplomatic ties with Afghanistan. Free Khorasan!!!
