they are indeed. At one point in the 60s he subbed for Earl Scruggs in the Foggy Mountain Boys!

What a f.. bunch of picking monsters on stage!.. It's such a treat for our ears to listen to the wonderful harmonies those guys are still able to knit today (like they did earlier in Desert Rose Band) . I also never get tired listening to John Jorgenson's choruses.. He almost makes me feel like throwing my D42 away with anger, when I consider what i can do (compared to his playing!)

Try to hear Seldom Scene(studio recording form "Long Time"...Seldom Scene) or Jonny Rivers with Linda Rondstat. This version is ok,but to me the other two versions are greater. Is only my personal opinion.

Wow. Most of Desert Rose. I love Herb for writing this, but nobody quite delivers it like Seldom Scene with John Starling.

saw chris and herb at one longfellow square in portland maine a few years ago. as i asked the manager, HOW did you get chris hillman? only time i was sorry i didn't bring an album (FBB) for the artist to sign. on their version of wait a minute, chris accidently stepped on one of herb's lines, which only made it more endearing. goosebumps...

Nice tone on the mandolin but it is Chris Hillman playing it- not me! I wish someone would make a good Jethro style two point mandolin. This song by Herb is so good and these guys really sing it so well.

This certainly is one of the very best Americana songs, ever. Mr. Pedersen Wait A Minute has been a smash hit, for sure. But honestly, and recognizing they're playing through amps, the plugged-in Takamine instruments sound thin, tinny, and unfortunately not very 'acoustic'. But given the nature of the performance and the sponsoring entity, I understand the instrument choices. The sound to my ear could have been a board mix problem. After the Scene's rendition came down, it's hard not to anticipate for unbelievable (and different) harmonies that Auldridge and Duffey laid down during the choruses. Of course, not everyone can hit all the high notes that Duffey could find. But the message and honesty in the song is still there.

The Scene's version is also in a different time, with instrumental & vocal dynamics.
