After having watched every single takarazuka production of elisabeth, this version is definitely my favourite (2nd fav is probably tsukigumi 2009)

The slight gremlin energy Asumi brings to the roll is what makes this one of my favourite versions. A personal favourite moment of mine is in the Mayerling Waltz (Rudolph's suicide) when Der Tod walks up behind Rudolf. Asumi spreads her arms and comes up like she's about to do a prank, which I believe she's the only performer to do such an action, most of the others just calmly walk up and wait for Rudolph to turn. There's a certain sass to her that few if any of the other performers have.

@@ShadowVincent3 Asumi Rio was surely the most bubbly and talented top star of all time. I loved the energy she possesed on stage during Elisabeth- it's all about her mimicks!! 💕 Missing her dearly

omg at 3:35, when I first watched it I gasped SO loud!! One of my favorite things about this production, or possibly my most favorite thing, is how he just simply materializes into a scene. You hardly notice Mirio walk onstage. He simply just appears. Literally the blocking and the lighting in this is one of the best I’ve ever seen.

also the version I watched had kiki as Rudolph and rei as one of the revolutionists but if I had to wait so long for rei to show up I would’ve been mad too 😂

I KNOW!!! Miririn was absolutely perfect in Elisabeth productions- and so was the decoration ❤ and as for Rei- back in that time, I was just getting used to takarazuka and Rei was the only sienne I knew so I specially found the recording where she plays as Rudolph 😂 I was like "WHERE IS THIS WOMAN" every second 😭😭

@@lizzyvanrouge i really love mirio in this role too, I think she’s perfection in it. this production is legit one of my favorites of all time, of any show, globally 🥰 rei was the sienne that got me into takarazuka and my queer awakening lol so everything I watched I was also like “where is she!!!” 😂

I really love how Takarazuka's production of Elisabeth has a lot more going on within the scenery compared to the original. Don't get me wrong, the original is iconic but it's scenery is purposefully meant to illustrate Elisabeth's depression and suicidal thoughts. This is a lot more of I'm seeing the action.

4:40 Elisabeth: I can't live with this! Death: Then you should die! I laughed so hard. I know it's supposed to be serious but the way she's so happy about her wanting to die is hilarious 🤣

I've got a different recording of this performance, the one with Seriko Toa as Rudolf instead of Yuzaka Rei, and the face Asumi pulls in this scene is absolutely priceless
