Takata airbag recall still a problem

My cars vin isn't even registered as a legit vin in the vw database. But from what I managed to find, my car should be fine.

No, we don’t want them to destroy our vehicle and further damage our vehicle and replacing the airbags because the mechanics don’t care today they just destroy rip up your car and then you do end up with problems you didn’t have before. This is why I’ve put it off.

i work for a dealership, airbags/inflators for the most part are easy to replace. it’s free. some dealerships will even come to your house. your way of thinking is lame.

WHAT?? um, no. That's not what happened. I have a Challenger R/T. 2009. It went in once for the drive chain. And twice for the airbags. BELIEVE ME, my car was in as perfect of shape as when I brought it. They didn't have the passenger one, so I had to go back. I made them walk the car w me so we're all in agreement about that. It was just fine. Respectfully, don't be a fool. You REALLY don't want shrapnel coming at your face at gunshot speed. I know someone that happened to.

Yeah, I had mine in three times. We go around the car to account for any damage the car has in advance. Only b/c during one recall I was going to grab a car for a few hours to get home and the rental place across the street CLOSED at NOON! The dealer *across the street* didn't TELL ME about that. So, they tried to charge me for it ALL WEEKEND (not open Sunday) THAT'S why you have to walk around the car whenever someone you don't know well has possession.
