Saw Papi in his last series vs. Toronto. First game we got slaughtered and Papi got his share of hits and a few RBIs. How anyone can hate such an amazing adversary has no rights to be a fan. We can boo and hiss when we get beat by a player, but never hate them for their talent and we respect them for the great feats they do. Anyone who saw Papi play against their team should love the guy for what he could do and we was certainly Captain Clutch and often was at the dish and would do damage at the right time. Right now our Blue Jays need more of this kind of hitting, Justin Turner is pretty good and hey he came to us via Boston may be it's lucky.

Even as someone who wasn’t from Boston, it was impossible not to stop whatever you were doing and watch this guy whenever he walked up to the plate, especially in big situations. I don’t ever remember a guy in baseball who was better in the clutch than Ortiz, at least not in my 42 yrs. He was one of those few players in sports it felt like a privilege to watch perform, even if you weren’t a fan of their team.

I vividly remember that first ring every game, I remember my dad looking hopeless putting me too bed after we went down 3-0 and I looked at my dad and asked “but there’s still another game right we can still win?” And he just said “I don’t think so buddy” Watching them win those 4 games was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced in sports.
