My buddy has and HD camera and I took for for his first ride in the Camaro after we got it put together and the engine broke in. As you can see the Car is extremely Powerful and Fun to Drive! These Yenko Cars were pretty Mean for stock. Enjoy the ride!

If you're good at rev matching, you don't need to clutch thru shifts. Truck drivers commonly float the gears in trucks that far exceed a million miles. If it's good enough for an 18 wheeler that weighs 80,000 lbs, it's good enough for a hot rod.

@MrCarter120 you are soo wrong, if there was a woman driving this would make no difference, its the way he's driving (he basically wrecks the transmission slowly and drives that manual bad in general) that makes car people like us write something like that... We don't expect him be able to drive such a car perfectly, but we expect him to drive a car he can control and learn how not to damage a car worth so much... Maybe he should even get an automatic, because he would have more fun

"float the valves"? Doubtful. More likely a Rev limiter. This is an expensive build and even though the driver clearly lacks experience and skill with a manual it's still pretty hard to imagine anyone would be stupid enough to build that 427 without "safety" against missed up shifts. How-ever give how this guy drives it's not hard to imagine the engine eventually suffers a "money shift" death at some point anyway. No protection against that can built in. He's just gotta learn to shift better.

@@jasonshawver7227 : I am not a Chevy lover by any means so this has nothing to do with being jealous of someone who supposedly has a 69 Yenko Camaro but blaming the shift linkage saying it’s not dialed in has nothing to do with the FACT that he can’t drive a stick...at all. Him buying a different transmission is not going to solve his utter lack of coordination between gas pedal, clutch pedal and moving a shifter. There was not a single smooth shift during that entire ride, he drives like Herman Munster with those big ol’ clodhoper boots. If you can afford to live in that neighborhood then park the Camaro and buy some beater car with a manual transmission and learn how to shift, get help from someone who can drive one and stop torturing that car or just simply put an automatic transmission in it. That was painful to experience.

I hate when people comment on how he cant shift, majority of them probably have never driven a manual....OR 450 horsepower (or so) car with a four speed, it isnt the easiest thing to do

Nicholas Elias I came up in the 70s so I had my share of sporty vehicles with manual transmissions (4 speed was common) and very beefy motors. Shifting isn't that hard. It's more of a technique. If you listen to him drive he's not smooth in the transition of gears. Sounds like he may be pushing the clutch in too far. There's no need to to push the clutch to the floor...You just need it far enough to make the shift. When you do it like that there is less time for the pressure plate to reingauge the flywheel making the gear change quicker and smoother. Plus you need to "Jam" the shifter instead of babying it. What I commented about the shifting was only advice. It wasn't meant to be taken as criticism.

Sounds better than a Mustang in my opinion. Cool car cool vid. Practice makes perfect when it comes to driving those stoplight drag beasts. Most people are used to rice and paddle shifting nowadays so good for you for even knowing how to drive with a true manual transmission. ✌️☺️

I'm from Houston and know exactly where your driving around because 99 was my favorite place to hit high speeds on all my motorcycles and fast cars.150+ with the top down sure does feel good on 99 late at night. Awesome car man. I'm military so i'm not in Houston for the next few years but i should have a 69 Camaro restored by then. If i see this one at a show i'll come check it out.

Look to everyone that is negative on this video... My apologizes that it did not meet your video watching criteria...I believe it says in Desc - First Ride... The linkages for the shifter were not adjusted and dialed in and The first time I drove this car for more than around the block to make sure brakes worked... I'm not a great driver... where in the description did I claim to be a race car driver? Please build a Car that compares and post a video so all the Jealous haters can attack you! The Car is a beast! Unfortunately I have sold the car and moved on to another project.

It's OK Dude, but just don't let it cost like you do, No!! That's just not right, OK? Other than that, careful where you point it and be sure not to ram into someones rear end. You gotta make sure you have lots of time to break. You took a couple chances there and if a car pulls out you're done. you're not gonna be able to stop. Rule of thumb, in the city, stick to burn outs if anything. Go out of the city where there's way less traffic and let 'er loose there. Awesome ride you have, don't F%*& it up.
