One of them said "normally you don't talk with strangers in ballpits". Well that's the thing. Children do. Some of the best friendships are with strangers in a playground for a few hours until your mom takes you and you never see the person you just played with ever again. And yet when we grow up we do not do that anymore. We do not connect with other people, not even for a short while. We forget that everybody has a story to tell and we forget how to listen. That is sad.

Idk where u grow up or live to have such an isolated experience but, that's not true at all. There're plenty of people who u can make connection with in College, Work, even the random construction worker who's on their break would be surprisingly chill if u just greet them when u make eye contact… perhaps it's just you who's avoiding em, since u don't see the immediate value in doing it.

This was amazing! Sometimes we all need to just get off of our phones and make a friend, go make someone smile, serve others or just do something that will benefit others whether you know them or not because you don't know who they are or might be. You could maybe change their life just by being their friend! I challenge all of you to go out sometime this week and make a friend!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure most of you people who are thinking this is so amazing & awesome have had someone approach you at some point in your life to try to get to know you in some way, but you rejected their initiation of conversation. Don't deny it. You know you have. Myself included.

I know of people who are going through very hard times and are just hanging on. I certainly wouldn't judge them for not being able to take on a new friendship during this time in their lives. A little compassion goes a long way!

I love how all the people who are open enough to get into that ball pit have a great time while the others miss out on it...it perfectly shows how life goes...if you don't try things you will walk by and see the others having fun instead of having fun yourself...also I love the stories of those people who have all been through some moment in life where they changed their perspective so that they now know being open to get in that ball pit is great :)

This is great. We forget that the people we pass by on the street, in traffic, at the mall, wherever - they're PEOPLE. Each one has a complex and intricate life just like yourself, with a past, secrets, regrets, people they love, things they'd like to do.... when you start to notice that, develop an awareness of it and start to see more than just another face going by... that's where compassion is born.

Thanks soulpancake for you inspiration and tiny reminders that the world is still full of wonderful people and that happiness is a choice. I truly believe If anyone strives for a life full of happiness they must find love, ignore and release the negitivity and remember to replace it with anything positive. If others do not bring happiness to you, try giving them a gift of overwhelming happiness first. Remain dilligant and kind and the effects you witness will be amazing. The happiness that overflows from you will begin to spill over into that person and they become happier more and more. Pretty soon they are over flowing with such a joy and amazing transformation begins....they begin to spill happiness into that person and then the flow continues over and over. I gotta say that once that ball is in motion it is just as if a wave of goodnesss is moving though each of us. Happiness CAN Cange the world one person at a time. Thanks again for the daily reminders of why and how happiness is the cure! God Bless, Namaste, you rock! :-)

So when the warm weather come I'm going to start it all over again and invite others to join me grow plants and a better community

This is just beautiful. It shows what can happen when you open up to people, strangers in a world when sometimes you just see them as a face with a job and nothing else. Lets be friends people, only by letting people in we can find new ways to be ourselves.
@FriendlyPitbull110 жыл бұрын
This was so perfect. If you sit in a ball pit you can only be relaxed, its comfortable and cheerful. The question balls open up the conversation without putting pressure on you to open it up yourself. We need to send a Ball Pit to Detroit! The city is in major crisis, this would create a bond with the people their! How can't afford not to make an extra friend? This was inspiring.

hi there! I`m from Austria, Europe, I am a teacher and I would like to install the ballpit, the way you dit it, as a schoolproject in our school! I would like to bring kids AND teachers AND parents AND headmasters together. The climate in school will sure get warmer..maybe a stupid question, because carpenters all over the world would know how to do it, but my ressources are thin and I would ask you, if you could share the "building-plan" of the ball pit. The material in your case would be wood and a glass-wall, right? And there is a bench alongside the wall, from where you enter the pit. For school purposes it has do be build save..thanks anyways!!! From what I can tell it's a controlled environment with real strangers. The Navy mom has a piece of black tape over the Nike logo on her hat, which means whoever was running the booth made her cover it up. So, she didn't know when she left the house that she would be in the video otherwise she would have done her hair and not worn a hat. But it's also semi-staged because the people running it made her cover the logo up. You can tell by the looks on everyone's faces in the very beginning they are a bit uncomfortable but by the end everyone is pretty relaxed. So, for the most-part it's real, but it's not exactly a "hidden camera" scenario. I think it would be different if the environment wasn't controlled. Either way, it's a nice video and if you get nothing else from it, take the "conversation starters" with you the next time you meet somebody!

***** Well I'm not sure where you live, but here in Washington DC no one seems to have any qualms about speaking their mind when it comes to religion, especially non-christians. Muslims around here have no problem shoving their religion in your face, but when Jesus is brought up by some random all of a sudden no one can function. Sounds like a bit of a backwards double standard if you ask me.

I'm a shy introvert, even worse, and I would totally do this. You have to be open to new experiences, otherwise you never grow as a person.

Pete Thanks for your advise Pete. I've been trying but it will take time I guess.

And the moral of the story is... wait for it... it takes a lot of balls to make new friends.

With the corona virus going around, I sometimes forget how unique but similar everyone is. Being in quarantine makes you forget how connected we really are. I hope in the future human connection will not be hindered as much because of the pandemic.

OMG this is so endearing. I don't know why but I want them to keep in touch and be friends. It's amazing how you can relate to almost anyone if you give yourself the chance.

The no teeth pair reminded me of a a good mom & son relationship! If I didn't know this was an experiment I would've thought they were actually related! The Navy mom & girl in the green hoodie reminded me of a Mom/Mentor & a kid type relationship. And the old man w/ the hat & the young girl reminded me of a strong ld & young friendship :D

Nice idea. But do it without the editing so it's easier to tell if they are actors or not. This gave off a heavy vibe of being done by actors.

Definitely not actors. I’m just awkward bc I was sitting in a ballpit with a stranger. And bc I’m awkward in general :)
