So very sad to hear of Mary's recent passing here in August, 2021, I believe. She was only 72. I am a longtime gardener transplant from Chicago who has now lived in Metro Phx for 40 yrs. I have at least 5 of Mary's books. They were integral to my plant selection & when you read them, including the more journey-like "A Place of Our Own, " you felt you were right alongside her & could relate. Nothing fancy to Mary's gardening. Just a love of the land & concept design, largely w/ the beautiful natives of the Southwest. And a wealth of knowledge. She was also an integral part of the Desert Botanical Gardens here b4 she moved from S. Scottsdale here to Texas. Condolences & Blessings to her entire family

Love the Before & After photos. Beautiful result, but it's so encouraging to see the starting point too. Love the textures.
