Take Apart, Clean, and Service Holmes Dual/ Twin Window Fan

In this video, I washed the Holmes Dual Window Fan. I took apart, washed, cleaned, and serviced the fan. You should only wash the blades, and the plastic cage. It is not recommeded to wash the motor & electronic parts, but I did it anyway. I believed after washing the fan, the fan would be ok if the fan was completely dried (no moisture) before I turned it on to get power from electricity. I dried the fan on hot summer days, so it would dry fast in short time, but I waited for 1 day anyway to make sure it would dry with no moisture completely.

For the third time I took the window fan apart to remove the massive blackness that had acquired all over the white plastic frame and the whits plastic fan blades. All plastic parts were washed in the bathtub. What a mess. This time, one of the two motors had seized up, but it is back to normal after I serviced it. Overall I was fed up with the quick development of filth, and so back in time I had purchased a pair of 10" x 20 " x 1' air filters and strapped one to the window fan. It fit like a glove and thus was air tight at the edges. I am now using the second filter. The first filter turn pitch black after two months and 10 days of being put to use. So I was shocked at how filthy the air is here in Toronto Ontario Canada.
