As much as I liked Sein and wanted him to stay I always thought him staying wouldn't make a ton of sense for his character. He left his entire village behind to find his friend so abandoning that mission because he's gonna miss Frieren and them would feel a little weird.

I'm feeling confident we'll see Sein again. Haven't felt so represented by an anime character in a while lol. And while I agree with him Fern and Stark should date already, I also feel the same about Frieren should just adopt Fern already. It's too wholesome. And maybe when Sein returns he'll have met his sexy older lady adventurer and bring her back to the group. But I bet Frieren wishes he were still here now to help her manage these rambunctious lesbians 🙃

As a viewer, I really, really want Sein to stay but for his character, I want him to go and find his friend, and find closure. If his friend is alive, that is a relief for him and happy that he is able to reunite with his friend and know the reason his friend could not go back home. If his friend did not make it alive, well, time to rejoin Frieren's party and go to heaven together...
