Another option as each braid is removed apply oil to the build up area it acts as a solvent for the build u. Added benefit is the oil acts as a pre poo before washing.

TIP: Start taking down braids from the middle/top then move outward. That way you can take down the hair down over days.... and you can still pull up in a ponytail while your are taking down braids over a few days... without that rush process and they are still in a style. And you need a metal rat tooth comb @jeanita blue

Next time u have that build up ar the roots of your braids detangle the knots wit no spray no water with your fingers the bigger knots that r on bigger pieces of hair you can gently comb it til it comes loose then detangle the rest wit fingers.yrust me I grew my hair past my back my chess..but someday I had micros and I got I. The shower with the knot build ups and tried detangling it n all fell out.so I'm rockin dreads for a while .Ill try my other natural hair again maybe the end of this year.been dreaded 3 years n still shed inches of hair from dye and bleaching my dreads.but I'm fine now and I'm the best at detangling those build ups I jus messed up not touching them and trying to deal wit it after it was wet didnt work for me.anyways I'm goin to subscribe to your channel cause I enjoyed your video congrats on your sweet place and following your dreams👑💎🎀
