Thank you for doing the math out loud and saying how much hair sheds every day! I feel bad when ppl take out protective styles and get very sad about the shedding. It's natural and healthy and you did nothing wrong! ♥️

I just started leaving my protective styles in for 3 months last year. I'm in my second three month protective style. First time I did cornrows.. Now I am on little three strand plaits, no extensions (we call them matutas in Kenya) The growth I saw after my last protective styling was phenomenal. I hooe to do this all of 2021 and finally get my hair waist length.

From 2017 to 2020 I have had my hair consistently in crochet twists, and I've left them in for 3 months and a little after the 3rd month and man....I've seen so much growth in those 3 years!!! It was mind blowing, I was impressed and now I'm going to start again in 2021! And yes I did get shedding and I used to see some shedding hair and it freaked me out one time and then I found out it was normal🤣. And I also did not put any products except hair oil because I noticed build up with the products. I really appreciate this video and your content and its helped me out a lot! Thank you!❤

I followed your advice by not putting anything on my scalp while I had my crochet in, which completely eliminated itching and scalp irritation, AND I left it in for 7wks instead of 4wks, MAJOR DIFFERENCE in the hair growth and length retention and very minimal shedding. You helped me nail my crochet routine, thank you so much! Waist length here I come! 🙌

@@traceydumase I wash my hair while it’s in box braids and since I have low porosity hair, I spritz it with water every 2 days, apply castor oil to the scalp(new growth) and then use a heat cap and my blow dryer to let it absorb into my hair. If you have high porosity hair, no need for the heat cap and blow dryer. I now follow her( Seun’s) leave your hair alone to retain length method and guess what! I learnt how to box braid my whole head of hair because salons use comb to destroy my hair in the name of overcombing it.

@@ileri-tu2dk I don't think you should wash your braids frequently as you would your hair without the braids (my opinion) as you will be loosening the hair quickly and I think you want to keep them looking as fresh as you can. Keep spraying moisturizer ( I use creme mixed with water in a spray bottle) and put oil sometimes too but not too often. I stress on moisturizing your braids often. If you are in a warm environment you might need to wash your hair of you feel it's dirty but I just tried this and it's winter here, I have only washed it once in two months 😂 and planning to do it once more before I take them out in 2 weeks. Great job, Seun! When I took my 3-month box braids off last month, my hair was a bit more than this even though my hair is like armpit length. Yet to relax it though...it is very due (just so busy)! But I need to, so that I can really see the length of my hair...can't wait.

Hi Seun... Update! My hair improved!💃 Not yet at bra length though but the goal still remains waist length! I am so glad..even with all the shedding.. Lol. I finally relaxed my hair last month (since July 2020) and my mum helped make your crotchet pattern for passion twist! I'm currently preparing the twists (mistakenly got Darling passion twists forgot to ask for a premade one😭)..can't wait to install my first crotchet hair myself... Super excited.👯. Thank you!

Thank u for doing these videos. I always watch. It's so hard 4 me 2 keep styles in 30 mo. I did 2 mo and surprised my hair didnt lock up 😂😂. What do u think about mini twits without added hair 4 3 mo? I love that olive oil lotion btw

Seun, I love your videos, my fave on KZbin. Thank you for teaching me to stop combing my hair when wet (what was I thinking???) How do you avoid your hair locking (dreading) when it is in protective styles? Does locking lead to extra hair loss?
