Case in point: Brent played his best character K Rool and still got murdered by Nick & Vern since Eevee was basically throwing. Tl;dr Nick and Vern don’t have to carry each other. Brent has to carry Eevee.

An interesting variation of the "each character once" rule, assuming that there is a way to set stocks on a per-player basis (there has to be, with mods/cheatcodes if all else fails), would be that if you win, you get to keep using the character you won with, but only with the stocks you kept. Basically a "lives last across rounds" type of deal.
