Clint.. one of the most beautiful/diverse/naturally gifted voices that ever lived to sing in a rock band...deep and dynamic lyricist who really "sang"... and delivered the songs to us, a true frontman, a true singer... other frontmen were made out to be like caterpillars ...crawling ,lurking aimlessly & seeking out there talents... only just getting there, while Clint was owning it.. so Clint took flight as a butterfly & fluttered effortlessly above all that he effected with his colourful & natural talent and left all to dwell on there on mediocrity & jealousy..hence why they were "left high & dry" a little throughout there time .. but no matter.. they were the biggest success for the minority' of Australias best rock, grunge/lovers soft rock band of all time nobody comes close..

Saw these guys when I was about 16 at the Riverstage in Brisbane. Was blown away by the energy and the intensity of their show and that was a time when I was seeing bands almost every weekend. Still a lifetime standout.. so sad that Clint hasn't managed to recapture the spirit of this band but he's still one of my all time favourite vocalists.

Thank you "equalitytool" and you do well to show that not every fan of a ban is as biased as "butterflyeffect89" Don't tell me to grow up because I commented on a page of a band a friend showed me. I wasn't aware that I didn't like it before I heard it. That, defeats your point entirely. I didn't search this band out. I was shown a link, and commented. What is the point of having a comment box and rating system just to hear only positive things? So, I return your sentiment of "grow up."

i completely agree with mattbrennan. its about PERSONAL taste. and PERSONAL opinion. if he doesn't like the butterfly effect who gives a cunt? i still like it, the fact that he doesn't does not have any bearing on my musical taste at all. im a drummer, so i also see what mattbrennan means when he says that pretty much everything around today could be considered to sound like something else. because almost everything has been done! seriously, i heavily doubt that an COMPLETELY original piece of

Also though, it's hard to say because no matter what I say you won't agree. They sound like tons of bands in different ways. Listen to a modern rock radio station and you'll hear those riffs and drums in a song and then you'll hear the vocals somewhere. They may be their own band technically but, each element is taken from somewhere. Taking elements from other places to make an original composition makes sense, but again even the overall composition isn't original.

i don't mind negative comments but you can say something like 'i don't like them' or something along those lines not say they suck..read your original comment..there was no need for some of the stuff you say..you were obviously seeking an argument with that sad excuse of a comment you left..you can keep giving me a thumbs down and i don't care..if you didn't like them you could have just hit the x button at the top or say i didn't like them. peace.

Not exactly. That isn't it coming down to opinion. I know of multiple thousands of heavy metal bands. Certainly, you can't say they all sound even relatively similar as metal has so many sub-genres. Even with Sub-genre's there are many original bands. So it doesn't come down to opinion; it comes down to how much you have heard. If you go to the "technical brutal death metal" genre, yeah a lot of them will sound similar because of similar influences and goals. However, this isn't always the case.
@DontKillFriends15 жыл бұрын
Bands can have their own original take on certain genres though. This is not an original take, whatsoever. That does not mean that all bands can simply not be original though. So while I was sort of hoping I was going to get yet another bout of laughter from the morons commenting on this video, your comment actually (though I disagree) had a semblance of sanity to it. So kudos for not being another one to laugh at (as of now). Also, at least this is better than Korn covering Lil Wayne.
@DontKillFriends15 жыл бұрын
Hey I disagree man. I know what a good band is. You know what though? I definitely know what a good band is to ME...and that's all that does and should matter to ME. Same for you. Music is an art form. What people prefer varies greatly. It's fine if you like this. I was just presenting valid reasons as to why I don't. I don't feel that this type of music is entirely genuine. It's fine if you want to disagree.
@equalitytool15 жыл бұрын
music has been created in the last 10 years (barring tool, which ive never heard anything like lateralus before) To Summarize: Everyone is different. we walk different. we talk different. we have different skin color. we wear different clothes. if everyone was the same and liked the same things, how fucking boring and shithouse would the world be? AUSTRALIA IS THE GREATEST

Ugh. You don't have to be old to figure out when morons are being taken advantage of by record companies that repackage the same sounds over and over. Bands who just happen to be heavily influenced by everything mainstream, are no better as they are already manipulated by popular culture. I don't get worked up. I just laugh at people. So yes, I agree that they get too worked up about it, but shhhh...it's funny to me. Originality doesn't come down to personal taste though, and this lacks it.
@toonooky15 жыл бұрын
No, arguments on the internet are lame because everyone can hide behind their anonymity at their keyboards and talk big. Good trolling though, I will concede that point. At the end of the day though you're just antagonising people on a youtube video message board over a matter of opinion. So ultimately you fail.
@DontKillFriends15 жыл бұрын
I disagree entirely.

is that to imply that there is something wrong with being gay??? that is not an insult...if you have no opinion on the music then thats fine, but only a simple minded human results to such an insult.............

I am not the only one giving your comments thumbs down. It's true though, they aren't some deep or original band. Just another modern rock band. Whatever though.
@averyryder80806 жыл бұрын
so u don't think that was a awesome live song?
@DontKillFriends15 жыл бұрын
Don't attempt to try to "outwit" me when you can't even use the word "your" correctly. You meant "you're" not "your" in that case. Again, stop creating bullshit that isn't there to appease your own opinions. There are no "progressive elements" here. No, calling them just another rock band means they sound very average and unoriginal. You can't say I haven't heard other bands like them just because you haven't heard the bands I have. Again, to label everyone in a country as dumb, is ignorant.
@DontKillFriends15 жыл бұрын
Why do people with less intellect reply to my comments? Why bother? I just make you fanboys look really stupid. No, me not liking them isn't because they aren't metal. "Not being metal" isn't an insult, unless the band is trying to be. I wouldn't say they are trying to be, so your comment is inaccurate. Also, yes it would be bullshit to say they sound like Tool, as Tool (though not one of my favorites ever or anything) is a hell of a lot more original and talented than this band,.
