Because I love this stuff, you might assume it's because I've been listening to Mr. Ford since the first Yellowjackets album (or his stuff with Miles Davis). Or Mr. Goldings from that time he held down the bass, incredible comp and solos simultaneously with Scofield (not to mention countless other examples). But nope. I'm really, really impressed by the young'en, Mr. Barzilay. He has such confident swagger, and it holds everything together. Mr. Ayoub and he are absolutely solid; locked in. Those two are like onions and tomato when you're slow-cooking delicious food, so the spices can show what they're all about. That simmer absolutely gets them there. Everyone. And they're just so right together.

Same bro. I play guitar and bass , both for at least 1 hour a day, each. Most of the time I end up in the shed for 3 or 4 hours lol. I do this, partly, to get better...but I also do it because I'm hoping to, one day, have music friends. I'd kill for a few buds that are proficient at drums keys, whatever..just able to play and down to jam. Scary Goldings/Scary Pockets are dominating my personal playlists lately. Just so good, funky af, beautiful mixes and then they get Scofield and Robben....god damn, I couldn't ask for anything more. I've had Pockets Presents : Swatkins on my turntable for a while now... probably over 40 spin-thrus lmao. My non-musician guests love the opening track. Harder, Better, Faster stronger. It's great. I love these guys. And I hope one day I can do something similar, make dank jams w friends in a cozy room. Till then, mate. Cheers
