With 3d printing becoming more and more affordable at the hobbying level a lot of these companies are going to have to adjust how they do things like high priced limited runs. Because an ambitious portion of the market are going to just find peoples renders and print them.

@@exturkconner I got a resin printer specifically for translating my 3D models into figure prints and gunpla mod kits, wouldn't be a far fetch to print an entire gunpla kit using a larger printer. You could even print without getting runner nubs on your exterior panels.

I can totally see an MG Pale Rider being a thing especially the Space Type since Bandai is already releasing a GM Turbulence/Gundam Storm Bringer FA. All they need to do is throw in the blue plastic, give it new weapons, and slightly modify the head.

The advance of Zeta stuff is pretty nuts. It's basically all a couple of base kits (Hazel and Woundwort) a couple of accesory packs, and a couple of vehicles and then they take parts from each of those and different color variants or different head variants and just slap them together in a dozen different ways. Whoever decided to do this at Bandai I hope is in a cushy position cause it's brilliant they get to use the same parts over and over and over again and just milk it for more and more money.

Your feelings on 1/144 scale mirrors my own. And it frustrates me that a lot of the kits I REALLY want (Prototype Stark Jegan, The Jegan ECOAS, Char's Origin's Zaku II with the ASR, Atlas Gundam)...its all High Grade ONLY. That said there are some High Grades that we'll have to live with. Like the High Grade Neo Zeong II. Since a 1/100 scale MIGHT not even be possible...

Theres a lot of Hazels because they are basically the core for all of the advance of zeta machines and the Hazels are just GM Quels with Gundam heads that were originally used for psychological warfare on zeon remnants.

I like RG but you HAVE to glue tiny parts that fall off or be prepared to lose them forever. Stuff I ALWAYS glue. The V fin, The tiny metal wrist bands, Some Beam Sabers and anything small that comes off easily.

Uh, no. Pale Rider is NOT a modified GM Sniper II. It literally uses the parts for Gundam Units 4 and 5. Read the wiki.

Strike Destroy curb the elitism there. It does use the GM Sniper II as a base. You can clearly see the structural similarities in both models. And yes, it also is based on the Gundam 4 and 5 as well, but I was just giving my comments that he could make his own pale rider MG by starting with the GM Sniper II, which has an MG.

Love the work, but what are your favorite stories of Gundam? Started with the Toonami (TOM 2) block but visiting the UC was a turning point for me. Still enjoy the side stories, but there's quite a bit running through the UC. MSG, 0080, 0083, 08th, still working on Zeta, Wing was a mess, IGLOOs, Build Fighters, Tri, the two Build OVAs and CE could use work but the Stargazer was cool. A large dump of names, but there's probably some stories that stood out. To boil it down, an MS for the show. For me, the RX-77D Guncannon Mass Production of 0080 WitP.

P-Bandai is a curse and necessity for GunPla fans. It sucks that the variants that we enjoy get a kit at all, but the fact that it comes out as a P-Bandai makes it rough. - high price - limited run - if it sells out, we risk not being able to get it or having to pay like double or triple the price Just watch the RG MSN-02 Perfect Zeong being a P-Bandai release. I agree that it does suck when an RG is better than the MG version. But on the flip side, Bandai will probably make an updated MG version sooner or later. The MGEX RX-0 Unicorn Gundam "Ver.Ka" 😐 The price is one thing, but you know Bandai is going to re-use it to make all of the variants again. Watch them also release a version without the LED light up too.

I have an, admittedly probably dumb :) , alternative theory regarding the nub marks on the metal parts of the RX-78 Gundarium alloy kit: Are those nub marks identical on every kit? Could they be some kind of (misguided?) "homage" to the fact that despite being the 40th anniversary, that nub marks are a thing which every Gunpla builder encounters? Are they deliberately moulded in?? (No I won't be buying one - 2000 bucks is a used car to me!

You know the fucked up part bandai could have made more money if 1. Release the grunt Zaku Warrior and 2. Phantom Wizard packs Standard. It would be a easy 60 - 80 dollars (6,000 - 8,000 yen) having customers buy the main suit and expansion set. THEN release ace units as premium bandai. THAT IS HOW YOU HUSTLE!

I hate 1/144 scale myself as well unless its like late/modern UC (CCA-0096) when all the MS were bigger and would be slightly bigger than a Wing MG even as an RG kit. Also the stickers for them are horrendous. The only love MG builders get recently is bandai shitting out constant P bandai releases, a underwhelming ver ka that was hyped up or a new line that costs more than a PG. edit: the gundarium rx-78 is also kinda a reach from bandai especially when their own promo pics has shitty nub marks all over it and they already celebrated Gundam 40th with G40. But they know they'll get bought regardless and I'm sure theres already tons of preorders.
