To fully appreciate the effect, you need to witness the real thing. During a 1999 air show in Moscow, single MiG-31 on takeoff was LOUDER than an entire aerobatic team "Russian Knights" on Su-27s. I believe MiG-31 produces infra sound because it generates vibrations of internal organs of (distant) spectators.

And you have just explained how our predecessors saw "Gods coming from the sky" and when they fired rockets then "Dragons were shooting fire and burning houses". Gods were of course just members of a more advanced civilization, but for primitive people they were gods. Just like American soldiers which landed on some Polynesian islands were "gods" who came inside of "shiny birds" from the sky. And since Americans shared their food and other stuff with the locals, they were worshiped. The tribes had special rituals, fires and dances at the end of the improvised landing strips, calling for the "silver birds" to come back and bring them food and funny stuff they never saw before. But the war was over and "shiny birds" never came back again.

@@TheAlien729 it actually wasn't a joke. Objects actually do orbit around it because of it's gravity created by it's weight. A rocket doesn't have an airbreathing engine. But yes they are massive jet engines, I'd like to see them stripped from the plane just for a size comparison to a human, the plane with landing gear deployed is well over 6ft tall to the top of the spine, and the engines make up the majority of the height 😳

There's a documentry about the MIG31 ... it has so many drawbacks... because of it's weight .. what's the point of flying mach 3 if you have zero sealth and poor maneuverability ... it's like flying a supersonic cow 😅 .... too bad the jet looks beautiful

The design ethos behind this aircraft was make darn sure it is the fastest plane period. So find the biggest engines in inventory and build an airframe around those. The Russians were successful in that approach.
