Hi Helen! Thanks for such a great tutorial! I learned a lot. I have two questions about what you demonstrated. Is there any way to preserve transparency when copy/pasting from PS to AI? And when I export from AI as a smart object, it usually pastes as not quite square, usually just one or two pixels off. Should I ignore this? Adjust it so the smart object/pattern is square? Thanks!

I just left you a message on your FB page regarding Illustrator not having the sRGB profile. Would this method solve that issue? You changed colors in Illustrator, but if I have the hex colors from Spoonflower, wouldn't I change the Illustrator colors to hex in Photoshop (using say the 'crop' method) then export the PS file as a .png for Spoonflower? I know I am not the only one using CS5 for Spoonflower.

Helen please can you help me to help someone else. Motifs were created in Illustrator and taken as vectors into photoshop and then combined to make beautiful repeat patterns. Unfortunately, the college tutor says that the designs are blurry and not sharp enough to send to be printed on fabric. Soooooo many designs created and they are beautiful but useless unless this pixelation problem can be fixed. Can you suggest anything??

I can't suggest anything much - blurry is probably a problem because of the Photoshop file size. You probably need to start over and make a bigger file to start off with in Photoshop so you won't have pixelization. I'm sorry because that's not what you want to hear.

Helen Thank you so much for taking the time out to reply to me. I think he managed to sort it by taking it back into Illustrator and doing something lol... I do not know enough of the technical stuff to get it but I am just delighted that at least some of the designs have been saved. Thank you once again for replying to a total stranger .
