Looks amazing , very astheically pleaseing. I Very much like the modern look. As a bus driver myself i do see some issues with the design : - Alot of bus stops have high kurbs specifically for busses and sit most of the time flush to the floor when pulled up to avoid trip hazards. Haveing a glass door open outwards would mean constant risk of damage or injury to someone. Would it not also mean that the wheels would have to be straight in order to open the door ? Not every bus stop in uk allows for that to happen. Also what kind of protection do the outer display screens have ? As i have seen some pvc advertisement boards scratched and ripped apart due to branches and and bushes that are overgrown. I mean there may be easy suloutions to this and i hope there is as i think this is defo a lovley looking bus and great step in the right direction.

As long as nothing is drastically changing. I'd just let them do them. Because at the end of the day we all have the same goals at play. We want the company to profitable and prosperous no matter how they got to go about it as long as they still working. But I admire there work ethic and the energy they bring. These are people who love their job and vision so I'm here for the ride. Weather it works or not I got faith and want to see them win in which ever way they see fit. Sorry for the long response.

The bus' aesthetically looks really nice, I quite like the see-through and light feeling it gives off. I worry the limited technical innovation mentioned in the video, such as the flat walking surface (which can be found in various other hybrid / fully electric buses that were already being sold before this), blind spot cameras (really nice for cyclists, of course), and a sun roof; might not outweigh the cost and considerations for municipalities when deciding to purchase from a new manufacturer. I wish them all the best! Really curious how the Arrival cargo van is developing!

What about active safety systems apart from wider visibility, like driver attention warning, collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, lane departure avoidance etc.? Does it have torque vectoring for better cornering and control on wet and icy streets?

I´m a busdriver with 14 years of experience, with all kinds of buses except double decker ones. This bus is build very light, and I think after looking at this video that sound insulation from road noise might be lacking, and wasted seat space both front and rear axels. Information about the range and battery type is missing, also placing batteries on roof only will move center of weight way up, and affect driving.

It would seem sensible to put decent solar panels all over the top of that large E-Bus. Might as well use all that space if you've got it. Nice E-Bus by the way, hope to see lots more of them around the UK soon...

No, solarpanels would just be cosmetic. A bus i literally a brick on wheels, let's say the roof is covered in 600W panels how many of those could you fit? 10? Let's say 10, that'll be 6 kW of energy, the Ford F150 lightening uses 2 kWh/mile so I'll just guess that this bus uses at least 6kW/mile. So at the sunniest summer day the solar panels would give 1 mile per hour. For a vehicle like the Aptera that is super focused on aero and efficiency, solar panels make sense. But not on a bus, the use case is totally different.

And anyway, they are cheap enough, why simply leave a huge roof like that empty, when you could be using them to produce energy. The U.S has 60,000+ school buses...

@@morilot Your argument is valid, in the case of Cars. But Not for Buses, they have a Vast surface area, ideally suited for Solar Panels. The total cost of the Inverter & Flexible Panels is very little. I can't see an issue...

@@Charlie-UK I'm totally for solarpanels, but not on that bus. I've also invested in Arrival so I think I'm kinda pro EVs to. If the solar panels is put on a building or a ground installation it can be very effective. And it can always (daytime) be used no matter what the bus does. If put on the bus the bus will need to carry extra weight, it might be extra drag and the passengers won't get that nice roof that makes the bus so much nicer than any other bus.

It's certainly neat, but you should really install either pantographs or trolleys on it. Just having a battery isn't conducive to having a widespread, frequent service without tons of vehicles and/or major delays for charging.

Right now its not about attracting more people to stop using there cars, its more of comfort and cheaper bus fares not looks, the bus does look great and all but I honestly don't think making the bus driver cab functions all on one screen like how Tesla did is a great idea either, everything needs to be simple and easy for the bus driver and not for ascetic and looks, make the bus more simple like how ADL makes there buses perfect for the public and not just for style, plus those seats look horrendously uncomfortable 😬. Edit: The Bus should of stayed on paper, because if its just a preproduction model then cool but if not keep it on papers because that bus doesn't seem like it can handle the road humps and uneven UK roads either.

Unfortunately I can’t see any serious unique selling points to actual buyers. Bus users don’t buy buses, local councils do via requirements and budgets to private bus operators. But besides that point I feel that this company lacks focus and is all over the place. Nowadays if you are not historical conglomerate you can start company with only single product because otherwise you lose that laser focus which is so paramount for success.

Technically I think they halted this. They are focusing only on the van for production. So that is in line with your emphasis on needing to focus and not be spread out across too many things. That said, I'd have rather seen an update on the van for that reason - rather than the bus which is not a current production goal.
