This man is a genius. The games people will be playing in 2025 would look like a movie to us in 2023. We already see this with the unreal engine 5 passion projects. The one thing he didn’t mention about AI is what happens when open world games have their Finite State Machine AI being replaced with autonomous agents (AI NPCs) As models get smaller and fine tuned games won’t need to have their agents making API calls to OpenAI. They will train their own game specific models and all the agents will run on their server. Each game will be filled with emergent play from the interaction of organic and synthetic players. It will feel like a mirror world. You won’t know if that other player is an agent or a hardcore roleplaying human.
