Take Up Space - AR Artwork

When Adobe commissioned me to create an augmented reality artwork in celebration of Women’s History month, I knew that I wanted to make something heartfelt, vibrant, and empowering. As a woman that has worked in technology for many years, I know a thing or two about the subtleties of sexism - how people’s internalized messages can unconsciously inform how they perceive you and, ultimately, how they treat you. Luckily, you don’t need anyone’s permission to live a big, beautiful life. You’re only as small as you behave. In celebration of all womxn everywhere, spread out your arms and take up the space you deserve.

PROCESS: I drew everything on my iPad using Procreate. I created the 2D animations in Adobe After Effects, then exported them as PNG sequences. The 3D elements were created in Blender and exported as GLB files. After importing all of those assets into Adobe Aero, I created the layout, set up the interactivity and set the image anchor to my illustration.
