Hi: I love your bikes and have tried the previous gen of Stout in Stuttgart, and loved it. I have a couple more things I am wondering about: what happens if the battery ever fails? is it possible to change the battery if it gets weaker, etc? Also, if I want to mostly ride with the support off and under my own power, it would make sense with a derailleur rather than singlespeed, right?
@AmplerBikes2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marion. Thank you for your questions. If a case comes where the battery has to be changed, then it's possible. It's not an intense procedure so to say. If you would like to drive the bike without motor support you can easily do it with a singlespeed model, or with gears. It more depends in which areas you are cycling. If you've a lot of hills, then a model with gears would be better. If you've urban environment with flat grounds and only some smaller hills, then a model with singlespeed is an option.

@@AmplerBikes Definitely hills here in Oslo, so the Stout is the way to go, i think. Thanks for your quick reply!!

Dear Ampler, I love the simplicity and compactness of Juna. I am seriously considering it for my wife. The only doubt I have is the ability of a bike to climb uphill. How does it handle hills like 4-6% of steepness with the singlespeed belt? What is the gear ratio of it? Thanks!
@AmplerBikes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words and your question. Gears always work better than belt when it comes to pedal up the hills. Of course the e-motor support will help you up and make it easier but gears would be more useful anyways in this kind of situation.When you have only one or two small hills in an urban area, then the belt would be also fine. When you've the possibility to test our bikes your wife should definitely do this to get the feeling. The gear ratio is 55/19 = 2,9.

@@AmplerBikes Thanks for the quick reply. I live in Gdansk, Poland, and I think there are no Ampler showrooms or distributors around here, so no testing is possible for us. I agree that gears would be useful, but I am trying to assess if we can handle our local conditions without it. The belt looks sooo neat :) One kilo less is also attractive. I have another question then. Assuming that the rider goes uphill, what conditions need to be fulfilled to ride with full support of the engine (250 W)? Does it depend on the torque applied to the crank or some other criterion? Cheers!
@AmplerBikes2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, the next showroom for you would be Berlin. About the torque you are right. If you put more torque on the pedals you get more from the motor, you can especially feel that uphill. You can climb a hill with our belt driven bikes when it's not so steep (

I think it was a good choice to give an inside perspective on your operations, it both personalises it and gives more confidence in your product. Now the only huhhh inducing choice was making the Juna, clearly aimed largely at women, only in a dull gray. Not of course some cliche pink or some such thing, but I would say more colour is in order :)
@AmplerBikes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, colour is always a hot topic, we'll take your feedback into account :)

Hello, I have two questions: how can you charged this bike? And can you ride this bike in a very steep city? Thank you for your comments
@AmplerBikes2 жыл бұрын
Hey, You cannot remove the battery from the bike for charging, which means you have to charge the bike next to a power outlet. We have a 45nm rear hub motor which is made for the city, but not made for the Alps :) We suggest a test ride. Have a look at support.amplerbikes.com if you have more questions

Dear Ampler- I desperately need support. My 1mo old bike is not starting any more. Call to customer care gets discntd saying no free agents. Mails have been sent to support but no response. Ticket was created but no ticket no. or acknowledgment from the portal.

Thanks team. Hope you understand the anxiety of the customer when the support line refuses connections even if called exactly at 0800 when the line opens, and when there is no ticket number shared when you open a ticket. Meanwhile will continue to wait.

Unfortunately, my Ampler broke. There I still had hope. Unfortunately, the process of repair is infinitely difficult. - the hotline is turned off - Email support takes 7-8 for a reply (not for the solution, but just for the reply). - My bike has been broken for over a month now and still no repair in sight I am deeply disappointed in this company and hope to have nothing to do with Ampler soon. Riding a bike used to be an uncomplicated way of getting around, unfortunately with Ampler it is no longer.
