I watched this too see what you were up to but didn't expect to see myself. Meeting you and everyone else in Colorado was definitely a highlight of the year for us! Here's to a great 2024 for you and your family!

Meeting up with you and Nita definitely made my 2023. You’ve always been great to chat with in the Facebook groups and on the forums. We’ve always kept it real, even when we had different opinions. You’ve been an awesome KZbin colleague and someone I really respect. Here’s to 2024! Cheers 🍻!

So sorry to hear that you've been sick! But I'm glad you're feeling better! I think more notable takeaways from 2023 were "Having a winch on your vehicle could help you self-recover from muddy ruts," and "Driving a vehicle with a low-range transfer case can keep you from damaging your vehicle (skid plate) due to having to use momentum, and it can help climb long hills without overheating your drivetrain, (and probably complete Fins N Things unassisted)" On the plus side, pushing the limits helps you find where those limits are, and can help keep you from getting in trouble again, possibly WORSE trouble, in the future. Great learning experiences. 🙂 Also, the snow chain videos were really, reallly good! I hope you have more awesome adventures in 2024.

Thanks! I’m feeling better now and so thankful 🙏 I’ve really been pushing to get a winch bumper made, and I’m waiting for the company that makes the 3.5” lift kit for the Honda platform. I want this solution to be available to the masses, so that’s why I haven’t gone to a custom fabricator to make one. As far as using momentum, I don’t have to use so much of it in the Honda. It’s geared 20.4:1 which is a Tacomas 4Lo 2nd gear (which is more like 19:1). But a T-case with the front / rear rotational lock would be helpful in sketchy situations, and yeah, more gearing is definitely more capable and safer. Plans for this year will be to capture the total solar eclipse in Texas and possibly make a return to Moab. Thanks for the best wishes and I hope you have a good 2024 as well.

2023 is the year that I, too, finally got to meet the one and only @bruceyyyyy in person. Anything beyond that was gravy, such as getting to hang out with JonDZ a couple times as well. 😄 Glad you're feeling better. Interesting upgrades to your rig...I like how you keep tweaking and tweaking to get it optimized for you. Happy New Year and here's to a healthy and happy 2024!

It was awesome hanging out with you too Donald, and I finally drove into Oregon last year! Watching your New Years video, I forgot to comment on you feeling sick and that I hope you feel better soon! Hope to see you in 2024 again! * and also, it’s nice to reflect on how I met you and @bruceyyyyy from the Subaru community and we are all still actively connected, despite all driving different brand vehicles.

@@JonDZ_Adventuring I know I had the Gen 5 in CO but my daily these days is a rusty old Chevy. It was an honor meeting both of you!

I'm so glad you are feeling better. No, seriously bro, I feel like we have a symbiotic bond, and if you're sick, I'm sick. If you go hiking and get into shape, I feel physically stronger. Be well man!

Thanks! I’m glad too! Being sick for 1.5 months is so long, I was worried there would be no end to it, which was a scary thought at the time.

What's that name and model of your clamshell tent?
@JonDZ_Adventuring11 ай бұрын
Yes, that tent is the Centori Outdoors “Outdoorsman XL PLUS”. On thing to point out that it’s pretty wide at 57”, which is a decent match for a midsized Hondas wide roof. There’s been a lot of advancement in Roof Top technology. I highly recommend the tents with 1.) storage capacity 2.) full frame.
