Exactly & I don’t get the love affair with Jordan being a cheerleader / coach . Why didn’t you just put him on the coaching staff before the season started . Wasting a roster spot on him is pointless. MPJ ‘s contract can go in the trash also . It would be ok him not turning up so often in important moments if he was a bench player . That contract they gave him is ridiculous.

Making shots is not always the answer. If you have a bad defense, then yes, your offense better be perfect, and you better make shots. Minnesota wins with defense. The other night in Minnesota, game 6, at the half, Denver was 4 for 21 and Minnesota was 5 for 21 from three. Both teams were shooting very poorly. One team was playing high-level defense. Wolves were up 19pts although shooting the exact same as Denver. It's going to be hard to be a good defense when the 7ft 300lb center doesn't protect the rim at all. This forces Denvers offense to have to be perfect and 'make shots'.
@tzeege
@tzeege 4 ай бұрын
@@weights250 So you're telling me that a guy who's top 5 in total steals, defensive rebounds and deflections in these playoffs, needs to be top 5 in blocks too? What you're describing is the best player in the NBA that never existed, considering that Jokic is also top 3 in total points (2nd), rebounds (1st) and assists (3rd). Minnesota's defense is built to stop Denver's offense, not the other way around; with 4xDPOY big man leading the charge. Expecting Denver to have that level of defense is just disingenuous. Edit: T-Wolves averaged 103 points per game vs the Nuggets, I wouldn't call that defense "bad." The Suns are a bad defensive team, with Wolves scoring 118 ppg...

I’m surprised at the lack of blame for Malone in this one ?? Keeping Jokic out there for so long was absurd . Not trusting PWat at all this series was a huge mistake . We have blown big leads like this way too often over the last few seasons . Spurs second last game of the season is the most recent one . Malone is super slow to change things up once it starts to get out of hand . Waits way too long . Reactive instead of being pro active .

Not sure it is on Malone. Murray was bad all series long. Too much dribbling and burning the clock, not to mention turnovers, careless passes, etc. Him and Joker sort of failed to get good shots for MPJ and KCP yesterday. Murray dribble, dribble, dribble, then shoot a contested mid. Or two man game with Joker where none of them got good looks cause Minn knows how to defend their 2 man game.

He appears to have a whole lotta quit in him. I’m hardly an expert,but that dude seems to like to blame others and get caught flat footed. As a fan of the other team, it was enjoyable to watch him melt down. Great series. My question is how did so many Timberwolves fans get tickets? There were stretches where they were drowning out the Nuggets fans. How’d they get so many visiting fans inside? I think that was huge and the Wolves players felt it.

MPJ is not the problem. Those "fans" are crazy to put the blame on him. They had 3-2 advantage him averaging 4 pts. They failed with killer instinct in this game 7. They had it in the bag but decided to shoot dumb 3s and make stupid passes that lead to turnovers and easy buckets for Minn. MPJ played well on D and rebounding. Made some shots too. If anything, AG wasnt involved and KCP played rather poorly. Off the bench, Holiday should have perhaps be given more looks. I blame mostly Joker and Murray for trying that two man game too much which Minn has figured out. Instead, they should have tried generating more open looks for MPJ, KCP, etc. IMHO.

And then, all of the sudden, Nuggs relaxed and started taking unnecessary 3s and other dumb shots, turnovers that lead to quick and easy buckets for Minn. Just cant do it. That gave them life and confidence. Not to mention, Denver then also resulted into playing worse D. Fouling unnecessary and other blown assignments on D. Thus, their bad O then lead to poor D. And then, in the end, they had no killer instinct. Nobody could stop the bleeding. That is concerning and disappointing. Cant collapse like that at home and having a 3 time MVP and Murray. IMHO, Murray and Jokic both failed to involve KCP, AG, MPJ in this game. Not to mention they couldnt step up and stop the bleeding when the lead started to melt. Pathetic.

As a Nuggets fan congratulations to Wolves. Jokič and Murray looked gassed. That is a FACT, not an excuse. Simply Wolves others beat us. Simply Nuggets lost their version of Naz Reid and Alexander Walker in Bruce Brown and Jeff green. Outside of Jokic and Murray nuggets dont hsve anyone that can beat defense with a dribble. Watson and Braun and limited offensively. Starting 5 played heavy minutes. Jokič played 47 minutes. He didnt rebound him and Gordon. They need back up big and scorer off the bench or combo guard. Minesota was better and deeper team. And they showed thst tonight when Edvards didnt have his best game. Its hard to repeat. Spurs were dynasty and never won back to bsck. Minesota is for me now the favourite. And they will also be better. Nuggets need to retool their bench to rest a starting 5 in very important games. Looking forward to mext season. The games where your bench and others were good from the field you killed us. It ended up being so interesting that our core strategy of not doubling Jokic ended up not being the key to the series. Doubling him and forcing the supporting cast to beat us ended up being the solution in 2, 6, and 7. If you get another consistent contributor you'll be right back on top.

Jamal Murray sucks. Nuggets deserved this loss. They were steadily going towards it since the loss vs Spurs. I was very nervous before this game. I'm done watching NBA (hopefully, forever). This is actually good for me. I have much better things to do in my life. Watching sports is such a waste of precious time of human's life. I've been thinking of stopping wasting my time on Nuggets and NBA for a while already. The best moment would be after game 5 )) Stop watching it forever and never read or watch any information This loss is actually very good for me. Very painful, but very good. I will no more be involved in all this stupid disappointment. Don't waste your life on garbage, go for what is really worth living for. You came into this world definitely not to watch basketball

That 's what happens when he changed the rotation and ran the mvp and starters into the ground by playing them full game. They looked tired in the 3rd quarter and stiff in the fourth. Very stiff coaching by Malone and then making a grotesque interview after the game .

Looks like last year really was a fluke, theres no way we get even a crack at another title with OKC and Minnesota only going to get better, San Antonio adding to Wemby and the LA teams always get whoever they want and Jokic will start declining as well as he is at the age where bigs fall off a cliff. Window is shut, time to look at selling off as many pieces as possible to get future assets and picks.

No bench and no contribution from high salaries. Braun has to figure it out on offense. If he can do that we can move on from KCP. A Bruce Brown wouldve worked wonders for Denver in these playoffs. Every time someone had to rest we knew we were about to watch 24 seconds of hell.

It's my analogy. When you finally bag that super model. Are you gonna have to say energy to get her agand what happens when you win a championship you eat and drink and celebrate? Especially if it is your first, they played fat and satisfied if you say Jamal was not in shape, a lot of them probably was not in shthey all partied all season, they got interviews. And extra accolades in attendidn't and they didn't come hungry.And you're right minnesota looked like how we looked last year hungry

The main fault in the Nuggets’ lack of depth was actually some poor summers during the Connelly era - specifically in 2017 when they traded the draft rights to D. Mitchell for Lyles and Lydon, drafting Nnaji and Hyland in 20 and 21, and doing a pretty bad job of identifying and signing the really good undrafted free agents (Reid, Robinson, Strus, Reaves, Caruso, Finney-Smith, Dort, McConnell, Jones Jr, Alvarado, Eubanks, O’Neil, Kleber, C. Martin, Boucher, Landale, Hauser etc.), some of whom are available every year. This past year was a bad one for the FO but their options (other than trading rather than re-signing Nnaji) were limited.

Booth has to go. It's pretty clear ownership is not willing to spend. You can see what Tim Connelly was able to do with just a little bit of budget freedom in MN. But a creative GM would have found a way to get the talent despite that. Booth is not that guy.

The segment on Tim Connelly sounds so entitled from you guys..Would Tim Connelly have won a championship with the Nuggets the way he was running things towards the end of his tenure? Maybe? I personally doubt it but only God knows. Has he won a title since? Not yet. Was it a bad look on Tim when the Nuggets beat the Wolves in 5 last year (without McDaniels and Reid tbf)? Has Calvin Booth made adjustments (not small like you seem to think/insinuate) that helped the Nuggets win a championship yet? Yes. Calvin Booth did have his failures this year but the way you're wording things makes it sound like he didn't do anything but the mistakes he made this year. While this season/playoff run being a failure is due to the Nuggets having won a championship already

They had this game. They lost it because they took the foot off the gas. Started being careless with the ball, bad shots, which then lead to bad defense. All of that lead to Minn gaining confidence and trust. Interestingly enough, no leader on Denver could stop the bleeding - usually that is on Murray or Joker.

If MPJ is still on the roster next year, I won’t be able to take Calvin Booth seriously anymore. Trade Mike, get a bag for him & upgrade your bench. Get a freaking proper big to spell Jokic. Someone who can actually contribute. You’re wearing out your best player otherwise & this was proven just now. Once Mike is gone, either replace him with an Alex Caruso type of two way player. Imagine KCP & Caruso on the same squad. Jules could even be inserted into Mike’s spot. Many options. Face it, MPJ stans, they cannot upgrade the roster otherwise, with their salary cap situation.
