It's too bad these releases only begin with Taken By Force. I'd love to hear them talk like this about the earlier 70's albums.

Ikr. Like In Trance, Virgin Killer and of course the definitive Lonsome Crow. Fly To The Rainbow is also a classic, but these other 4 are aspirationally inspirational to me as a fan and as a Hard Rock and Heavy Metal band member.

Totally agree...would love to hear them talk about their entire early catalog...Lonesome Crow thru Virgin Killer. All brilliant albums. I've been fortunate enough to have met Uli 3 times since these videos came out and I've also met Matthias, Klaus and Rudolf as well... brilliant players and all very genuinely kind friendly people. They all spent quite a bit of time talking to my wife and I...unlike many meet and greet situations where they sign a few things take a photo and move along....they spent close to 20 Minutes talking to us and were truly gracious when we spoke about how much we have appreciated their music...you can tell it means a lot to them to hear their music has touched their fans.

What I like on Old musics specially the Scorpions that before they made a song it has a deep meaning.

For me the Roth years (1973-78) was what really appealed to me back then in the early 80's when I first really tried to catch up with, what they called Heavy Metal. In the 70's I grew up with what they now call classic rock, so naturally that particular era of the Scorpions was what really did it for me & I always liked Hard Rock, that was the term. When I first heard the Scorpions on the airwaves, finally, in was in 1982, when they overplayed 'No One Like You' and 'The Zoo' but I never was interested enough to rush out and by their stuff, but when I saw a cassette at a record store, it was an interesting art cover which was a good looking blonde hovering over a white Stratocaster. That which turned out to be "In Trance" and "Fly To The Rainbow" on one cassette! You might have a difficult time finding that! Anyway, not too much later I came across 'Hot N' Heavy' a compilation of the early years, which were the complete Roth years, I loved it to death. I remember the first time I heard 'He's a Woman, She's a Man' I was blown away by the music! A week later I had to get the complete collection of the Scorpions. I had everything eventually they did from1972-82, Yet I still felt the material with Ulrich Roth, (which was what he went by then if you read the credits) was far more superior and it just plain out ROCKED harder! Much harder. It blows my mind that the Scorpions didn't get the proper exposure.. until Roth left the band, I just don't get it, really stupid. Same thing with Judas Priest, I never ever heard Priest on American radio till the 1980's, yet some of their best work came out in the 70's (in my opinion) and 'British Steel' was epic. Although that came out in 1980 I felt that was the crowning album that came from all the experience & hard work in the 70's. Unfortunately the music industry has always sucked in America, thus we were always the last to know of such great bands.. America has always been that way, if it's not commercial sounding, it doesn't get airplay. Not to mention the radio these days doesn't even play metal or hard rock anymore, just classic rock, but how they define classic rock is weak and close minded. That's why we lost Jim Ladd and 94.7 KMET and KLOS sold out too! Sucks!

You first have to understand who runs Hollywood (also controls all forms of media, including theaters and venues) then understand that Scorpions first German album is only 27 years after the war. Twenty seven years may seem like a long time but I assure you it's not. That being said, Gene Simmons of Kiss recognized their greatness early, as did our servicemen stationed in Germany. In the seventies it was practically law that you had to be prejudiced against all things German except Volkswagen, Mercedes, and Porsche....and even those were taboo in middle America.

This is my most fav of Scorps ballads. It fits nicely in my top 5 of their songs. 1. Well Burn The Sky 2. Sails Of Charon 3. In Trance 4. Hell Cat/Virgin Killer (tied) 5. Born To Touch Your Feelings

'The Sails of Charon'; 'Hell-Cat'; and 'Virgin Killer' aren't ballads. A ballad is a song with a slow tempo, e.g., 'Still Loving You'; 'Lady Starlight'; 'Always Somewhere'; 'When The Smoke Is Going Down'; 'Believe In Love'; et cetera.
