@@landfam4 While The Empire is, cannonically, the correct choice to make if you as the player value Skyrim's freedom to worship Talos (Ulfric is a Thalmor sleeper agent, theres an internal memo/note by a Thalmor agent on him in the game you can find), the Empire has a track record for hating Elves too. This is largely due to how the human slaves of the various Ayleid warlords and kings of Cyrodiil were treated by their owners. The Elves that owned them were Racist, and in turn the Gods deemed the Elves in need of a lesson. Then comes the Empire, who justifiably dislike/hate elves. This is why the Elder Scrolls games always flip flop back and forth if Mer or Men are superior (and often which is going to act more racist towards the other) at the time; that is an ever changing ebb and flow that is a staple of the series' very detailed lore. If you want a better understanding of the story, start by looking up the Tale of Pelinal Whitestrake. On a side note, there's also a few pretty rad irl songs about him ("A song for Pelinal" and "Pelinal (Animated Opera)" The later of which serves a pretty good abridged animation of Pelinal's life).

Scenery chewing legend. I fully believe this character to be a jaded, overworked, and very very very old being who is both aware of how good he is at his job making it impossible to fire him and simultaneously so sick of doing it that he basically says or does whatever he wants to get from point A to point B even if it isn't by the book. Can also feel the contempt for humans. Also my head cannon says that spyglass isn't a standard part of his kit and has no magical properties to it.

This was recommended, the thumbnail looked like Auron from Final Fantasy 10 and I was like "CLICK" Costume, demeanor, everything is fantastic. It was subtle feeling and not all anxious. Really enjoyed the story sharing of your character in it too. Felt cool to be interactive in a sense.
