Yumi! You are Takeshi Oiso's daughter?! You have a great liked videos list and playlist, all English videos! 👍 You are Japanese? Married to a non-Japanese? Your last name is Gemao... You finally watched this video just a week ago! I'm a very low-tech person and my channel is completely empty, no videos or playlists - yet! I hope you reply!

Hi Yumi, thank you for the reply, it is an honor! This video of your Dad's match was from 1969! I didn't mean to pry into your parents' private matters, I was just curious about your last name and that you like English videos and can write English! I am American and I would like to exchange messages with you on your liked videos and the videos on your playlist, they look very fun and interesting. I want to make a playlist too! Do you have email?

Hello Yumi. I don't know if you are aware but a group in the Philippines is having a wrestling tournament in honor of your father's name. It's called the Takeshi Oiso Invitational. So I looked for videos of Takeshi Oiso so I could watch him and know what he is about. He is a really great wrestler.

Aw yea George. I miss this sort of relentless punishment on the head and neck via the headlocks. Intense pressure he used

amazing. i've followed pro wrestling for nearly seventy years, and this is the wrestling of my childhood and teens - on black and white tv, of course. splendid proof that almost exclusively down on the mat grappling with sustained holds - and in this case only two or three holds in fifteen minutes - can be engaging and exciting.
@pmikeymike9 жыл бұрын
1on1 I totally agree. Very good match up, hold for hold. This is what wrestling should be about. using 1 or 2 holds to wear down and beat an opponent. Really great work using the side headlock to wrench the neck and wear down the opponent too. Perfect match, one of my favorites!

A long hot headscissors would have been nice to see in this match. He should have counted that headlock with a hot headscissors

You are so right. I've watched wrestling for nearly 50 years and this is what wrestling is.......working a hold and keeping it applied; slow worked, methodical action. Never rushed or in a hurry. You can feel the suffering as a spectator.

This and another match from the same show are the only full surviving undercard matches from the pre-videotape era of puroresu. This match survives thanks to a TBS program called Young Fight, which also showcased undercard fights from their boxing and kickboxing programs. (The JWA did experiment with a show that displayed similar matches, taped at the JWA dojo, but this program was not successful.)
I wish I could find more matches with similar pacing as this.

Daigo almost had a head scissors on Oiso at the beginning of the match but didn't get it locked on. After that Daigo took a lot of head scissors and headlock punishment from Oiso.
@troy916210 ай бұрын
This is this the style of wrestling that is real. Oiso really punished Daigo's head and neck. He did not let up.

@@troy9162 4:29 Daigo takes Oiso down with a headlock not remembering what happened the last time he put him in a headlock 😅 6:06 Oiso proceeds to show Daigo how to apply a headlock, 3 times leaning back, pulling Daigo's head up to put pressure on and putting his own head within an inch of Daigo's thighs but Daigo can't think clearly enough to even try for a counter head scissors 😎
@troy91626 ай бұрын
@@georgehenderson7783 You are spot-on correct. Also, the headlock and scissors work in this match has all the appearance that the holds were real and definitely worked. Oiso was just relentless as he applied that headlock work on Daigo. Daigo could not think to toss up the legs and scissor Oiso's head as he was right there for it. Would have enjoyed seeing this match in person. Do you wrestle? I do and have used head/neck work holds a lot on my opponents to disorient and weaken them.
@troy91626 ай бұрын
@@georgehenderson7783 10:27-12:00 Oiso just shows no mercy as he stays on his man's head/neck with that headlock. Even at 13:05, Oiso brings Daigo back into the ring with that headlock yet again and grounds him. A few times Daigo tries to mount a defense and goes for headlocking Daigo. He also tries to rough him up some as well. The better wrestler won the bout for sure!
@georgehenderson77836 ай бұрын
@@troy9162 Nah, I'm past that point, haha, I just enjoy watching the vintage matches.
I think because of the relentless use of the headlocking work, Daigo was debilitated to the point he couldn't react and the punishment just kept on coming at him. This was such a good wrestling bout and exhibition. I don't believe any of this was fake or put-on. This was real on wrestling holds. Weakening style holds and action.

I agree with you. Oiso used the headlock a lot in the match and then finished his wrestler opponent off for the win.

two asian bulls: well matched... vocal and giving and taking it like MEN... white trunks better technical fighter, but over powered and softened up by bigger opponent... best man won

Max Davis I agree with Max. The white trunks guy had muscle and looked better technical wrestler but was stifled by extended head scissors from the powerful thighs on older chub guy who also contained the stud in perpetual head locks and only in 12 min did the muscle dude escape and take control for a while. In the end those face slams on the muscle dude finished him through exhaustion! On the face of it the bull stud won fairly Wrestling as it should be..Exciting and no-one knows who is going to win! @@TheHairyarmpitlover I like how Oiso, while punishing Daigo with that headlock, leaned back and practically put his head between Daigo's thighs as if daring him to try for a revenge head scissors from 6:12, more than once but Daigo was too overwhelmed. 😎
