I've seen the lads a couple times now and "Never Forget" is always a highlight in the show for me. I always get so excited when the intro starts and every time I can't wait to raise my arms as soon as the chorus kicks in and then think what you described. Gary especially must be very proud. It must be overwhelming to imagine more than 50000 people in a stadium singing those words you wrote. And the best part is, it's not a nonsensical lyric, these words hit the nail on the head: "Just then I realised what a fool I could be - Just cause I look so high I don't have to see me - Finding a paradise wasn't easy but still - There's a road going down the other side of this hill". Definitely in the top 3 of their best tunes of the 90s 👍.
