SUCH a great intro to this product! I've always used the 400 model, but recently went with this one instead -- specifically for the Instant Stimulation features. We're constantly working on a establishing and keeping a good radius during hikes, so I'm hoping that feature will make it a little easier to convey. Thanks for the great explanation and demo!

The Pro has a "ramping" feature, where you press a button and it gradually "ramps" up the stimulation from lets say, 15-as needed.. Thats the only difference and the black skin.

Great explanatory video. Bottom line--is it easy and fast to switch to a higher level in a heartbeat if needed? For instance, to stop my dog from running in to traffic, or from grabbing a porcupine that suddenly appears? Finally, is it easy to hit the two buttons for boost when using the remote one handed? Only if you find the regular contact points give inconsistent connection would you maybe need to consider the longer contact points. Make sure to fit the collar snuggly and clear the fur out as best you can from that area when putting it on

@CanineConversations Is it possible to change the buttons that need to be pressed to set off the boost for Dog 3 (and Dog 4)? It would be easier due to the shape of the remote if I could press S3 +S1 to set off Dog 3 boost. And S4 + S1 to set off Dog 4 boost. Because both S3 and S4 are on the front of the remote, in order to press S3 +S4 together, or S4 + S3, I need to use both hands which seems fiddly when the boost is primarily for emergency situations. If I could set Dog 3 boost off by pressing S3 + S1 I could do this with just one hand and would be quicker and safer. The PC interface does not have any option to change the buttons that are required for the boost function to work.

Excellent tutorial. The one button I always use (black one on the front) started sticking all the time when I use it now! Not impressed! It's not a cheap collar and have read reviews where other people have the same issue. Do you as well?

i am having trouble getting the zapper to work. When I turn it on, the tone works, the vibrator works, but nothing happens on either the momentary or the continuous buttons. it doesn't matter what I set the number to. I have tried switching the buttons to the front ones like you showed in the video, but it didn't make any difference. what am I doing wrong? (It is fully charged).

I recommend trying the tester light that comes with it to see if the stim function is working. If that doesn’t work I would contact support through www.ecollar.com

Have you ever seen issue where after turning on and the lights flash green it goes to solid red? Our dog got skunked and I had to repeatedly wash the reciever, it not longer seems to work now. I'm kinda pissed as my previous Dogtra was on a lab that spent all his time in the water, this EZ900, which I loved up to now, has been on our water-phobic Doberman. A mere wash in a shallow dish shouldn't kill it! It's supposedly waterproof. They are sending me a new battery - hopefully that's all it needs.

fmccarter everyone feels it at a different level! You feeling at at a 24 isn't abnormal. Every dog and every person feels it differently. I can feel a 12, and my dog can feel a 6! I always introduce it to a dog starting at level 1. I will then go up one level at a time until the give the tiniest acknowledgement that they are aware of the feeling, that's where you start working them! Some dogs feel a level 2, and others a level 10. It all depends on the individual. :) Just because you can't feel it, doesn't mean that they can't. :)

Vibration does not have different intensity levels. It only operates at one intensity. You can change which button activated it, but the intensity dial only changes the stim levels.

I was told by a customer service person at Educator that the Instant mode only works with computer? But she clearly did it w/out the computer (no mention of it). What is odd is the instructions I rec'd with mine (2020) didnt mention computer at all..just saying if yours is not working could be due to this. I have not checked mine with this mode as I dont care to use it.

If you are asking to use boost with continuous vs. Momentary - she answered this and showed you how - you simply press the continuous button (FIRST) then the M button (hold together) and then adjust the number. Which button you hit first will determin the boost.

Thank you... seriously Educator's own marketing material is so bad as showing the remote features... their 1 diagram doesnt even show the other 2 buttons on the side so I was thinking there were only 2 programmable buttons which would be useless. The cheap $50 amazon brands do a better job of showing their product features smh. I think this is enough for me to get the EZ900 over the Dogtra models I was looking at I really like the tone only option and more programmability.
