My son has a 2 JZ swap in his 86 Conquest. We did this swap at my house in my garage out back. The car is a copper color and has an 83 hood on it. Really impressive looking car. It has I believe a t77 Garret turbo. It has not been upgraded from that other than the fuel pump. I own a fully built 88 Conquest with the 2.6 liter 4. All chrome hard lines with a snider cam and Marnel head. An 18 G turbo. The engine is out while I replace a burnt piston. Over boosted while dialing in the GM maft. I will not make that mistake again. Multi port injection would be great. But the 2JZ is a really nice swap and looks like it came in it.

Wow, what a beautiful car and impressive garage (with a fussball table as well). I would dream, but at 58 I don’t think it will happen. Thanks for sharing!

The Conquest is the only car ever made with rims tailor made for the car and are so unique they are hard to replace with any other and look as good.

The Conquest wide body cars are the sexiest cars EVER MADE!!!! Sad the stock motors were problematic. Far sexier than the Supras or Z cars ever were. And I was a Toyota parts mgr for many years. I came within $1000 dollars of buying a red ‘86 brand new and walked away from the duesche bag sales guy. These are getting uber hard to find in ANY kind of condition now. Nice vid! 💪🏻

Thank you. I always thought they sat so aggressive with the factory widebody. Definitely a unique look.

It’s funny you say this. Go watch my “Introduction to the Conquest” video and listen to 2:00. That’s the same comment I hear from everyone. And it’s even the same for my own story.

@@LudeQuest were you having any issues with the starter? As of right now my solenoid only clicks but if I keep cycling the ignition it'll eventually kick over
@LudeQuest8 ай бұрын
@@jasongibson1996 No issues with starter. Sounds like you need another starter.
@jasongibson19968 ай бұрын
@@LudeQuest that's what I thought at first but I bench tested the starter and it worked fine. I'll have to keep digging through the harness and find the problem. When turning the key sometimes it'll crank but most of the time the solenoid just clicks

In other parts of the world (New Zealand) these were called a Mitsubishi Starion. Extremely rare these days though, almost non-existent to be fair.
@lawrencecoleman7850 Жыл бұрын
The starion was sold in the United States also I think Mitsubishi made the conquest for Chrysler and then they put the same car out and called it the starion not many people knew how fast they were in their day I had a procharged 5.0 and I found out about the conquest by taking one lightly in the early 90's the conquest had some work done to it and was really quick I wanted one ever since especially now with all the technology that is out and you can really wake up them I would put a 4g63 in it since they are more reliable
@s1lv3rbordeaux47 Жыл бұрын
@@lawrencecoleman7850 yeah, I think Chrysler refitted they're own engine, as the Mitsubishi Starion came with a 2 litre turbo four cylinder. The engine was a Mitsubishi gsr, the precursor to the lancer evolution series. Never owned one or drove one though was a car always in my mind if the opportunity arose, sadly that it never did. Closest I got to anything similar, special as such a creation. Was a Honda city series two wide bulldog body, 1099cc intercooled turbo @ 13 psi standard. Damn that was a hella lot of fun, so rare at the time (1998-2000ish) that maybe 2 or three existed in the whole of New Zealand, 120 kph in 1st gear, like driving an ice cube & no doubt 100% as hazardous, though I've been a safe skilled driver from a young age so no unfortunate happenings for me or occupants of the time. I solemnly regret ever selling it (under my fathers instructions after he himself had a drive of it sneakily) only to see it wrecked & written off in less than a year. I owned it for almost 3 years & it was driven daily. As rare jdm cars go it would stand to be worth around $45000 on the NZ market now (& the previous 10 years or so), at the time I purchased for $1050 regretfully.
