Man, Red sure is running good now! That sucks about the battery. 21 years ago that same thing happened to me in my '78. It was all stock, original 400 with manifolds. I'd just put the heads back on it and had to take it for a spin. It didn't short out but melted a huge hole in the side of the brand new battery! Of course there was acid everywhere. It's funny because when I read the title, I had to wonder if that's what happened. So yeah... tie the damn battery down LOL!!🏁

Did the same thing ratbagging an 81 with a slant in a field, acid melted the dipstick off.
