Taking a drive on Gold Camp Road in Colorado Springs Colorado

@4:45 in the 80s my buddies and I used to climb to the top of that rock which has a great view of the city. It was a short climb from the gold camp road side. We also ran down that wash to the left (right where that truck is parked), all the way down to the paved road, although I wouldn’t recommend it now because there’s far less gravel dirt...every step we took, we slid like 4 feet. It’s a fond memory.

We had a Pontiac Station Wagon in the 1970s, and heading back from a weekend camping trip at “The Crags,” on the West side of Pike’s Peak, my dad decided to take the scenic route back to the Springs on this road. It’s something you don’t forget.

Wow! Thanks for bringing back Great memories! Back in '98 with friends in my '81 Buick Regal took this route to go camping for a week. Pitched tents at 5 locations. Some of the best times in my life !

Me and my dad rode this on our vstar 650's upon getting to the springs. The dirt is like baby-powder fine and is the entire road, so you feel yourself "sloshing" through it. The most exhausting ride I've ever had, because those are not dirt tire equipped rides, but damn it's a scenic route. We ended up going through at 1/3 your speed.
