@scottwood3235 They have all contributed. Now Kirk has contributed. He uses it live. Records with it. Etc.... Perhaps there will be more famous owners, each making the guitar more famous than before. Perhaps even the next owner (if there is one) will have a signature model. And then people will be arguing that Peter, Gary, and Kirk made it famous, and not the new owner. We all have players we like. At the end of the day the new Greeny models are Kirk Hammett signature models called Greeny. There will never be another 1st Greeny. But the reality is Kirk owns that guitar now, and he has put his mark on it.

Guitar Center is the only major guitar store in my town since Sam Ash shut down. Unfortunately I have not had very good experiences there. The service is very poor. On one occasion I wanted to see a Gibson guitar that was hanging high on the wall. I was prepared to buy it but wanted to play it first. Tried for 45 minutes to get help. Finally a sales guy told me he was too busy to get the guitar down for me, so I walked out and bought a guitar elsewhere. Now they even have the guitar straps locked up and you have to ask for help to buy one. Every time I go in there I stand in line for ever to pay for something while they have one register open and fifteen people walking around doing nothing. Sorry just venting.

@@firebellyK I go to Guitar Center in Brookfield, Wisconsin. They have treated me decently for almost two decades. The whole time I’ve shopped there and they consistently treat me with respect. The help is good. They carry on a great conversation with me quite a bit. And they don’t have to worry. I buy from them when I can. And other stores besides GC. But I only wish I could play more than I do. But they don’t give me any grief about my wannabe status.😆Just good people. The turnover of their help is not too bad either. They had to laugh about how darn much I bought in 2020-2022! It was crazy! They were a little concerned that I might have been going through a time. 😆But it’s all good.

I only go to GC to try things out, I never buy guitars there. I may buy a pedal or something but that’s it. My local music shop is still around, but they’ve drastically cut down on what they sold, they used to have a respectful showroom with lots of acoustics and electrics, with drums and other things as well.

I would not put a lot into into how GC sales staff act when a customer brings a guitar in to show off -- not sell, not to have appraised, not to trade. You were also asking leading questions which suggested the right answer for them was this guitar is so much more. Cue over-the-top praise. I watch GC guys turn up the sweetness a lot with customers. They do it to me too. It is also really hard to get a sense of a guitar in a moment as someone stands there asking leading questions with a video running. You would be lucky to get one honest sentence. If you did that to me, I would say what I think you want to hear and keep things really positive. I would not even necessarily be lying because it is easy to pick up a guitar with $200 price tag and think, in the moment as a video records you, Wow, this is as good as those Custom Shops, when it really is not and you would know that after spending quality time with both. Still, your guitar probably is worth the $600 you paid since you seem to have owned a lot of guitars. So congrats! Always good to love your own gear!

half of my guitars are from aliexpress and are made realy well thew a couple have a few cosmetic flaws but not realy noticeble unless you look really close i always have no logo on the headstock to advoid having it seized from countems and a few other things but like i said really well built

Apparently a Chibson distributor was raided this weekend in L.A. County California and about 3000 new guitars have been stolen.. err I mean confiscated. See, small time Chinese business men are of no threat and an easy target. It is not like there aren't any actual high crimes and serious criminal activity going on in the US, but addressing the serious issues might actually be dangerous and helpful to the public. 🤔

Instead of a predominantly legal copy, it is now an illegal counterfeit, regardless of the superior quality. Why didn't you just put another brand name on it and keep it legal? It was not meant to fool them, It was meant to show that the Chinese can make good guitars, that are the same or better standards than Epiphone, A 1500.00 Epiphone has a certain standard. This was a social experiment to see if that standard would be met if the brain thinks its something else. The Epiphone is there to avoid a psychosomatic assumption. that the guitar is junk. Epiphone made a Kirk Hammett signature Greeny. They have a "real Epiphone Greeny hanging on the wall that they bought from they got from me. Usefull tid bit. The second guy knew it was a custom China build because he's seen it on the channel. So it didn't go as planned. Ironically, he still agreed it's on par with the Acutual Epiphone Greeny. And even better in some areas.

Hey bro, I happened to be watching a Scar my Guitar video & Shawn mentioned a guitar that I had never heard of. A Bullfighter guitar from amazon. I tried to look it, but I could not find the exact model, but I saw a cool looking single cut & it was the last one. Fearing that maybe it was a return, I passed on it...Some time passed & I woke up & turned on yt & I saw the same Scar my guitar video so I picked up my phone & tried to find it again & there was that same bullfightet single cut so, I bought the last one on Amazon & man am I GLAD I DID! It is a Bullfighter D-120 red. For $150.00 I thought it would be junk. It has a flip open truss rod cover. Very low action. It has replaced all my other guitars (22) to be exact. Maybe part of me wanted to defeat this guitar or see what I could break. It's turning out to be a fantastic guitar. China has got there stuff together! It has a Bullfighter logo on the headstock. Doesn't claim to be anything more! I like it. I do want a Cathy Zhong guitar as well...

Sad that I buy only from sweetwater now. They always have what I want in stock, great service even if it’s just over the phone. If I don’t like it, I send it back with no problems. Guitar center never has any artist signature models guitar or basses I want to try in stock so I don’t even bother going in anymore unless I need strings and don’t want to wait. Plus, never treated very well at any guitar center. Guitar center is boring but a budget guitar store for first time buyers in my opinion. They are far from being experts.

I don't think that specific brand named capacitors are so detrimental to the tone of the guitar, they seem to be very large values that would favour less high end frequencies, perhaps giving your guitar a somewhat Santana like tonality. Anyway Happy strumming. Best Regards. John.

@todski777 I think that they are doing what they do every holiday season. The effect will be more people will buy them. People always want what they think might go away. It will drive up sales. Not stop them. For every guitar they stop hundreds will come through. To me it's Gibson just trying to puff up. But the reality is they just make more people want them. They won't stop them. And if somehow they did, I really don't care. At the end of the day they are just pieces of wood and magnets. There are important things in the world to worry about. When a loved one is dying in front of you, know one worries about the name on a piece of wood. I personally believe that imitation is the best form of flattery, and if you truly are the best guitar, you dont worry about the imitators. Just my thoughts. If Gibson wants to protect it's name they can go for it. It's their right. It has nothing to do with us. It's between them and the seller. I will still buy other guitars, including Gibsons. I don't have a favorite team. I just have a hobby.

So if the pots have orange drop capacitors, they are indeed CTS? I'm asking because I recently acquired a '61 SG Standard reissue. My pots have those said capacitors. You have a very nice guitar.

No, the caps are a wholly separate component from the caps... You can choose the type and value of the capacitor, and put them on literally any pots you choose, whether it be full size CTS, Alpha mini pots, or anything in between. CTS generally have the brand, the pot value, and the date and lot number stamped on the back of the pot, though. Hope that helps.

So, yeah, Kirk got the guitar from Gary, who got it from Peter, all of which respected it, till kirk carved his name into the guitar. The guitar is bigger to me then kirk, and maybe if anything they should have made a Peter Greene replica, so, kirk, you suck,lol

gotta say thats a sweeet guitar brother! the chinese guitar builders truly put love and dedication into theyr guitars! my "off the shelf" chibson LP is sweet as well...i turned it into a "newer greeny" as to how it might have looked when peter green had his...i even went as far as to get vanson "59" chrome humbuckers for it and plus did the backward neck wiring plus flipped it over for the look....

Those people say what they want behind a keyboard, but cower in a corner shaking in real life. Its kind of of a sad existence to be so pathetic that you lose sleep over guitars.. Real life is scary for those types of people. They make meds for people like that. Just Imagine what real issues must do to that poor guy? lol . Little Fella just probably needs a Big Hug 🤗 🤗 😆
