The way I see the Choji-Togame thing is that Choji got a bad idea in his head that he needed more strength to feel what he wanted to feel, and instead of fighting him on it, Togame enabled it. It’s originally Choji’s fault for that decision and that mindset, but as his best friend, Togame really should have knocked some sense into him instead of enabling him. But these are teenagers with complicated emotions, and they don’t always make the right decisions, especially when they are thrust into positions of power. Think Lord of the Flies. Anyway, when Togame decided to enable him, he was afraid that Choji would hurt the others and ruin the image of himself that the guys all had, so Togame kept Choji at arm’s length from everyone, thinking he was protecting Choji, but not understanding that what Choji actually needed was closeness with all his friends. Humans are social creatures, and we aren’t meant for loneliness. It was a series of mistakes by them both, though Togame only had good intentions. And I don’t blame him for doing what he did. He really just wanted to do the best he could for his friend. He’s not a mind reader. He didn’t know what Choji needed. Unemiya figured it out because he is a leader himself and could see it from that perspective.

I disagree with you somewhst with the lack of responsibility put on Togame. I only believe that Choji would really not deserve Togame if he actually fought back before deciding to turn a blind eye. As much as it sucks, its ok for friends to make big mistakes bc a real friend will check them on it. Togame sticking around as enforcer makes him a loyal but bad friend. Him and choji both share responsibility

Nah I think a lot of people would actually love to hear your opinions and experiences with things like this. It's interesting to see how people view this story differently based on their own experiences and I think your deep dives and tangents are really enjoyable. I often see you catch yourself before going into them and stopping yourself, but I think a lot of people would be perfectly happy with you continuing your thoughts.

For me. I love Choji as character To me, Choji is a parallel to Sakura. Both of them are exceptional fighters and acrobatic. Choji is at the top and is unhappy, but on the surface, he is carefree and lively. But he is hiding the fact that he feels unfulfilled in life. He has hit a rut. Sakura on the other hand is trying to get to the top and just like Choji believes that being at the top and being the strongest will give him happiness. however, he shows an inkling of happiness when he is with the bofurin. On the surface, Sakura doesn’t want friends, but slowly accepts being around them. Choji forgets the one that made him happy is what Sakura is experiencing for the first time: camaraderie and brotherhood Ume didn’t fight Choji like another punk on the street, he treat ed him like a little brother that needed a scolding and roughing up.

Choji & Togame's story felt like the author created the central idea for their characters, and wrote it backwards from there. Like the main points of their characters are there for me, but the story surrounding it feels kinda thrown together without much thought IMO. My favorite scene in this episode was Choji's apology, but I feel like everything building up to that could've been better. It doesn't help that the characters' dialogue and personality up til now have been pretty one-dimensional. But overall I think Choji's story concluded better than I thought it would've, execution aside.

chojis character is pretty realistic. characters in anime always have to have an equal degree of bullshit to match the level of crazy they portray. Sometimes a character is just that feeble mentally that something minor to us is not so minor to them. Choji is nuts, and most likely bipolar, clear signs of mental issues and its ok to have a character like that.

I'm sorry, but this is nonsense. Have you seen people for a long time that, having achieved any success in something and not getting what they expected, they would get bored and start doing idiotic things? No, usually a normal person is looking for something new that will return his interest. Choji, or whatever the shorty's name is, is not realistic. I am inclined to agree except that he is simply bipolar, which is why this idiot beats his own people out of boredom. Or, more simply, Choji is naturally a teenager, and here it is believed that this teenager creates game out of boredom. It's just unclear why the authors are trying to make him empathize, no thanks, I don't want to empathize with a scumbag. How he even became the head of the gang is a mystery to me

@@mr.freeman5162because you lack empathy or real contact with people. Some people whenever they trying to achieve smth can put their all in it and after reaching their goal those people can feel bored, empty and anxious. For example trying to be the best in class, you can have a lot of fun doing it, but when you get here you feel empty ans pointless. High rank in some games are enjoyable while you pushing yourself ans your skill there, but when you are in a top you are bored, because its not smth you do for fun and smth you do routinely without any passion. Windbreaker has the most realistic and complex characters unlike any other manga, so if you cant relate its fine, but if you havent encounter people like that or didnt feel smth similar, than you deprived of real human contact or understanding of them.

I think it was episode 7 where you went deep into disliking the entire atmosphere, the characters and really looked into it with confusion. As someone who’d read the manga I went from not liking Togame to liking him over 3 chapters. Which made your reaction the one I related to the most of those I’d seen. Wouldn’t have happened if you were a blabber mouth so blabber more. I think those of us who have seen you before and even more so your more regular viewers know you’re someone who goes deep. I recalled it from watching your code geass reactions during a long day of flights.

I get people can be rude on the comments section. But for you to stoop to their level and be rude back by lashing out the way you did really makes YOU look bad. Especially because you're the one behind the camera. Be more humble and more patient. Because having a big ego can ruin you. Again, don't let a keyboard troll get to you like that. Don't give them the time of day and don't acknowledge them like you did in this reaction. All you're doing is giving them power over you by showing them that they do get to you. You're better than that.

The eighth episode was very intense and interesting, I have already started to skip some moments in the ninth. Apart from the fact that he is empty in his soul, there is nothing to tell about the shorty, so they stretched this nonsense for the whole series. Shorty's motive is idiotic, in terms of how it happened that every loser gets kicked out of the gang. Because he reached the top and he got bored. It would be better if it were precisely his philosophy that the strong should subordinate the weak, the law of the jungle, the weak have no place in the ranks of the strong (although such a gang would not have existed for a long time, it is also crazy). The antagonist is absolutely not motivated in any way and has not been worked out in any way

Hey, nit trying to be rude or start a fight or smth but... Have you thought about the fact that ppl deal with trauma/depression in different ways? Giving that much strength/power to a drpressed teenager whiteout a healthy influence in their life and then socially ostracize them so they'll have to stay alone on their own heads with their thoughts is a recipe for disaster Comparing how Sakura and Choji whiteout having a view of how their lifes where before the ostracism and the fall in the aggressive depression isn't a good thing going through the fact that we don't know his different their situation might be. Ppl have layers, no one is equal, no one react the same way after a traumatic experience and comparing both of them like that is basically saying that one of they reacted right and the other reacted wrong cuz one had "success" while the other is struggling more to "heal" Comparing traumas and stuff is never a good thing, healing won't always be only a straight path, a depressed person can have the "ugly parts" and still be valid. Again, not trying to fight or smth, I like hearing other ppls perspective so, if you have things to say about what my comment please be gentle english isn't my native language
