The Blackout lighter was probably based on the old "Shepherds" lighter. Its a long section of 100% cotton rope. You pre char the end. The sparker produces an ember that is super windproof, in fact the harder the wind blows the brighter and hotter your ember.😂. Just keep it dry.

I’ve never heard of the shepherd’s lighter before but I’m sure this was a fusee lighter like the Dunhill Windproof.✌️
