Great video, I really like how in depth you go with the modes. Looks like such a versatile instrument and one that you’re really enjoying.

Good sound. Up in the air over one of these vs the DGT SE given the DGT won't be available for us lowly people until the Fall or Winter of 2023. I've gotten into the Wide/Fat since I got my SE Soapbar II. Thank You for the video and sound demos. Best Regards and Best Wishes!

Thanks. I just got lucky and found one. I had a goldtop on order and I was originally told end of February. Obviously that didn’t happen and when it kept getting pushed back I cancelled the order. I’d say keep your eyes open if you want that model. They pop up occasionally and don’t last long but if your timing is right… That said, despite the hype, the quality seems on par with the other SEs I’ve reviewed. It’s really about wanting that specific model. Best of luck.

I have a CE24 semi-hollow that I had PRS add the 24-08 switching too. Love the mini toggles and all the options. Also love the toned the guitar puts out. Great playing and sweet demo !

Sounds great! I’ve been on the fence between this guitar and an se custom 24. I like that this one has the fixed bridge since I never use a trem anyway. Might have to go ahead and grab one of these. Awesome playing!
@leonardgriffieblues58452 жыл бұрын
Thanks my friend. Yeah, this model’s features are nearly perfect if you don’t need a trem and 24 frets.

I have one, Im very satisfied with it! I think you've got a lot for the price with that guitar! My question is.... Is it superior to the DGT SE....? Thank you for the video... 👌👌🎸
@leonardgriffieblues58453 ай бұрын
The quality of the SEs is pretty uniform. Even the least expensive models. Different neck profiles and features. It really just comes down to what you prefer.

@@leonardgriffieblues5845 Thank you.... I think my next one is gonna be a g&l asat special with the spécial pick up... Almost like P 90... This guitar with the spécial bridge seems to be a spécial... Hope youre gonna do a review on this one! Thank you again from Montreal Canada

Great video. Thanks. I have been interested in this guitar versus the Standard with coil split. I like the single coil sounds from Paul’s guitar/24-08 but the standard/custom with the 58/15 pickups (I think) has more a mid range crunch to my ears but I can’t find a direct comparison to tell if it’s just me. I’m mainly interested in Paul’s guitar for the 22 fret, no tremolo and blue finish. I didn’t realize playing the standard 24 the neck is 3/4 longer so the bridge pickup is moved closer to the neck and feels like I’m stretching out to play causing me to lose where I’m at on the fingerboard. They say the tone is slightly different too but I’m not sure if it’s big enough for me or if that is what causes the difference in the crunch sound. But thanks for the video.
@leonardgriffieblues58452 жыл бұрын
Thanks Man. Yeah, the 24 fret necks really affect the sound of the neck pickup, since it’s moved closer to the bridge by quite a bit. I’m not super fussy about it but I don’t tend to use 24 frets, so if given the choice, a 22 fret neck does make more sense.

Thx for the review. What's your take on the Paul's Guitar vs the Silver Sky - from a general overall feel perspective? I realize there are several build/spec differences - but thinking "big picture" feel.
@leonardgriffieblues5845 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Honestly, they’re very different animals, like Strat/Les Paul different, so they feeling nothing alike. Different neck carve, different scale length, different body type, different pickup type, different radius, you get the idea. The one thing they have in common is the usual PRS quality of fretwork and setup. I’ve found that to be consistent across all models I’ve tried.

How do you set the intonation on that guitar? I’m looking to buy one but I just noticed I didn’t see any adjustments? But it sounds I like👍👍🇺🇸
@leonardgriffieblues5845 Жыл бұрын
Like other wraptail models, the only intonation adjustment are the two screws at either end of the bridge. It’s pre-compensated and does intonate quite well, so long as you don’t use an odd string set or a wound third. If you use something that won’t work properly, there are aftermarket bridges with greater adjustment that will drop right in. But most players will be fine with the stock bridge.

That’s the video that i need to buy one of these Paul Guitar model. Did you liked the SE version pickups? Thanks! Great video.
@leonardgriffieblues58452 жыл бұрын
Thanks. There’s nothing wrong with the pickups, but I do get the feeling there’s room for improvement. Unlike the Core Paul’s Guitar, these are standard size humbuckers so you can go any direction you like.

Great demo, I clicked cause I’m considering buying my very first guitar and start learning and PRS is a contender. Which prs would you recommend as an all rounder quality beginners guitar that can go on for years?
@leonardgriffieblues58452 жыл бұрын
Probably either a Standard or Custom 24. PRS SE is a lot of guitar for an affordable price. The models I mentioned have very average neck profiles which should suit someone starting out, and the PRS models usually play really well out of the box, which isn’t true of all the companies. The Standard is less money and the only thing you give up is bling. Of course someone starting out won’t be using 24 frets, but no harm in having them, and if you keep it you’ll grow into it.
@dallionaire89472 жыл бұрын
How would you compare to an SG? Thanks
@leonardgriffieblues58452 жыл бұрын
They’re rather different animals. The Paul’s Guitar has a maple cap for one thing. I think there’s some overlap but the PRS SE is a bit zingier if that makes sense.
@jerryodom73582 жыл бұрын
I think your gonna find that the body wood is too soft when the bridge starts tilting forward and you get string buzz from the bridge..great guitar other than that..I sold mine…

Interesting. I've actually moved it on to buy the S2 I reviewed later. It did seem solid enough while I had it.
