I have been disabled since 2014 and have turned down the handicapped tag thus far! I feel I’m not ready to admit to myself that I’m that disabled yet! In the near future I will most likely be losing my left leg above the knee due to infections and swelling that can’t be controlled! At that point I may use handicapped parking till I get adjusted, though once I’m acclimated to my new normal I will probably go back to regular parking!

Yes, because I have two handicapped children, and I'm a bilateral amputee, we're all in wheelchairs. But before I became an amputee, we parked far away from the store and let other people park on handicapped who needed it worse than us. I also have a dog that self trained herself to alert me when the kids are having seizures. But I wouldn't ever get a service vest unless she was properly trained. I have to admit we got to go to the exit to get onto a ride, only for the kids. Now, if it was only me, I wouldn't do any of those things.❤😊 thanks for that video it makes people think a little more, hopefully.

There are so many unique situations. And I never saw outside myself enough to realize the many different forms of disability before my accident. I am thankful for my outlook now and can hopefully shed some light on it. Thank you so much for publicly sharing your story. It’s comments like this that change the way the world works!! 💕

When people take a disabled person in a chair to a concert you can get seating comparable to a box and close to the stage sometimes. I got to park by Metallica's tour busses😊. So make friends with a person in a chair and use them to get good seats.
