She's going look sweet. Don't you just love working on these older 2 strokes? So simple. Amazing how good of condition yours is in, very lucky.

Definitely black lugs. I would get those forks coated too. There’s enough vintage on that thing go’n on,, trust me.

the bottom frame rails are prone to rust where the drain holes are, sometimes they are real dented... just a thing to keep an eye on.

Call Jeff Stanton on recommended pro riding level bike tech tips? Maybe check frame and subframe for cracks before coating? Tall seat foam is nice for riding position on this bike (I'm average height and had the '93 CR250R). '93 Spark plug prone was to cold fouling. We used to index the spark plug depth by milling the mating surface of cylinder head at spark plug. I dont remember how much material to remove. I'm guessing 2mm? Is that an aftermarket triple clamp? Is that needed at all? 19" rear wheel/tire might provide a better rear end feel. Weatherstrip seal on airfilter cage to white airbox to keep dirt out of carb. Outer clutch basket wears quickly. WC Frame Guards are nice. Run an Ohlins shock instead of oem?

First off, huge fan of you cole! Second huge fan of that project bike. I have a 93 I’m working on so I’ve been looking into a lot of things for these bikes. Love the factory looks as well so keeping things mostly period correct is good but if your going to ride it I would take advantage of some more modern parts. Newer triple clamps for rubber bar mounts. Newer front forks and coat them to look like the old factory but spruce up the lower fork with good coatings for performance and trick look. Black fork lugs looks great! Front brake set off a newer gen for better stopping power and larger front disc. 96 rear shock for more adjustment. Looks like you have bigger pegs than factory but if not modern yz pegs fit. V force reed block. And cone factory finish pipe. Other then that it’s all cosmetic with covers and coatings. But that’s my .02 stoked to see what you do with it. Going to be trick. I live in the PNW to hope to meet you in person some day.

Run a 36mm or 38mm keihin air striker.i run one on my cr500 and my ktm 300 just air screw adjustments between summer and winter.also you can get a stic metering block for it and that pretty much eliminates jetting after finding a good setting.just an idea

Keep it red, white, & silver. Lugs red or stock. Just keep it 90s style with w/e you do.

Hit me up on the suspension! We (C & M) set it up not long ago at all and we’re just down the road. Coatings, whatever you want. We got you. We’ve done everything from goober trail riders to pro Supercross.

My 2001 CR250 has the carb figured out. Nozzle change and jetting fixed it. It has low hours, probably less than 20. It's for sale in Norcal. All original besides os tank, and flywheel weight. Lmk if you know of a buyer. Price is very negotiable.

This is going to be a cool build!! It is almost too bad that you could not get a set of modern Showa forks for it like they did on the Factory bikes. Thanks for sharing!

You can find MC2's 94 pretty easy on google. Maybe some ideas from that. The fork lugs were black and would look cool like that. I had one back in the day. I hope you leave it looking stock.

With the lectron it doesn’t take away power it just makes it a lot more linear perfect for trail bikes but that’s about it. With the kehien you have you can get a STIC block which will bring so much more power to the bike and cheaper then a lectron but you still need to jet it but once it’s done maybe go up a size once in a while it’s perfect wouldn’t recommend anything else. Also with the lectron they don’t like to sit with fuel in as they just block up crazy fast and never fun correct again without cleaning completely

raced this model back in 94 ,such a sweet bike ,probably the best honda cr 250 ever made ,the engine was incredibly strong ,jetting perfect ,only bad thing it did was head shake a bit at speed and the stock suspension was wayyyy to soft .looking forward to seeing it all done and you ripping it ,i bet you love this bike .👌

don't put a lectron on this mate, the stock carb and jetting are really good just make sure it has the standard jetts in it .also looks like it has 95 or 96 model forks the 94's had a big gray fork slider /protector,the front disc is different as well. The pulp mx website has some good images and info on this bike to.

I would make the sub frame bare metal. You do not really see that part of the bike anyways, so waste the money coating it.
